Arranged Overdraft vs Credit Card
Help
What's normally a better deal? Iv currently got PayPal credit but I'm looking for something for emergency situations like a car break down, you can't always use PayPal. Not needed atm but thought I'd put something in place as I can't save due to nursery fees but come September I won't have any.
The Bank of Mum & Dad or Granny is usually a better bet when there's an emergency. The trouble with arranging an overdraft or increasing your credit card limit (at a time when you don't need the money) is that you tend to dip into it (and use it all up) long before the real emergency.
I learnt my lesson the hard way some years ago and always pay off my credit card in full now every month.
A good point I think that is part of the problem why I can't save - because it's there I spend it! Unfortunately I haven't got anyone that can lend me money
MumOfThree That's often the way. Maybe you could do something like baby-sitting to earn a few extra quid to stash away for a 'rainy day'. Pay it into a building society account immediately you get it to stop yourself spending it! Putting rainy day money in a biscuit tin or under the mattress doesn't work - it's too easy to raid it.
How does the PayPal credit card work? Can you only use or where you can use PayPal? Or can you use it in any shop like a normal credit card?
Only shops that accept PayPal. I bought an iPad interest free as long I repay in a year, I was going to get on with a contract but this would have worked out more expensive so it can be good.
