Being Arrogant Does Not Mean Being Confident
Other
For me arrogance is one of the worst human traits. Thinking you are better than others, more good looking, cleverer, richer, showing off and telling people how wonderful you are is not attractive. Since using tik tok I have realised that arrogance is a contagion where each person tries to outdo others in a boasting and bragging contest.
To my mind being confident is the ability to speak to people on every level, be they Lord or toilet cleaner. To be able to speak in a crowded place, to dress without needing to show acres of flesh, to know your worth and know others will recognise it without you telling them.
I was brought up not to brag or blow my own trumpet but was praised when i did well. If you know your own worth and are confident there is no need to tell others, they will see it for themselves.
Let's teach our kids they don't need to brag to be beautiful.
I'm absolutely gorgeous if I do say myself joking I know what you mean I have it daily people looking there nose down at me coz they think they are better
Leannexxx I know what you mean, I think we all suffer snobbery unless we are part of the nobility lol. But I think arrogance goes far deeper. I am so sick of swiping past all the people posing, pouting and posturing on social media making themselves look foolish. Look at me I am so beautiful, but not even realising how vacuous they are!
Leannexxx I tried fb and Instagram, hated them. Still have them, unused, as I don't know how to delete and have forgotten passwords! I enjoy posting on tic tok now I have learned how to use it but feel my posts are educational and seem to go down well so there are some serious minded people. I post history bites and call myself history nutter as that's how my family think of me
There is indeed a fine line between being confident and arrogant.I deplore the latter.Rich or poor,Young or old, daft or brainy..we are all here on the same ticket.Which reminds me of this
MelissaLee1 ha ha that's funny, good old Ronnies. I watch a lot of YouTube and a couple of American guys do reactions to the Ronnies, I should suggest that clip.
Lynibis I was young when it first screened.Too young to understand how nuanced but it's no less relevant today.
I find I come across it a little bit at work with colleagues. We are all equals but sometimes some think they are above others when they are just the same.
