Australia Has Banned Plastic Bags

Seems a bit extreme to actually ban plastic bags considering there's much worse ways that pollute the environment like tobacco, excessive piles of garbage, automobile/motorcycle pollution, etc.
These days I just use a paper bag (similar to this) for my shopping and an additional plastic bag if I need to use it, so there's always a plastic bag around.
