Autistic Woman Living in a Bus Shelter with Mother and Boyfriend

In the News

It was heartbreaking reading this, what is this country coming to to allow this to happen to any family in this day and age ??

Ok it does say they have been offered accommodation and they turned it down

But this is only because they dont want to live amongst drug dealers or have to live in in a property far from their family

I can only imagine the types of places they have been offered , they must be bad to choose a bus shelter instead

I hope the council are ashamed of themselves and find something decent for them

They might do it now it's been put all online but the issue is there aren't any places available other than a lot of shared accommodation

telmel fact is tho they have been offered a place and turned it down so they are homeless by choice and now they are crying about it I'm sure living on the streets is safer than being in a shared accommodation seriously?

Homelessness is a major issue and I don't think it has all to do with immigration. The government were more than happy to sell off huge chunks of property and hand out peerages(Lebedev)to Russian Oligarchs.

This is a very tough situation and one i see often at work. I can see both sides of the coin as obviously accommodation is limited and councils can’t really offer what they don’t have.

At the same time family is very important to some people and if they don’t have a way to visit them that can ruin their lives.

I have no idea what the solution is tbh but it’s just another depressing story that seems to happen a lot in this country atm

telmel I read this story online and both mother and daughter have autism. Maybe that explains why they are homeless by choice and not by bad luck.

They should buy a dingy, float down Dover they will be picked up, covered in cotton wool and be placed in a 5 star hotel, well thousands a month are doing it 🤬

martinlufc5637 I must admit the same thought went through my mind. I try being sympathetic to immigrants but get so cross when our own citizens are not looked after. I truly believe the influx of so many young males has sinister connotations.

Lynibis and if labour win the next election this country is doomed with their open borders policy

Apparently the council are keeping the property they offered them available. They turned it down because it wasn't in the area they wanted. Does anyone know which part/area of Birmingham the offered accommodation was in? I'd like to know before I misplace my sympathy.

It's insane when you read this. But not surprising to hear read or see! Hopefully they get suitable property .
