Bank Holiday Monday - How Did You Spend Yours?
Ask a Question
As the bank holiday Monday comes to an end and many of us are returning either to work or back to our more usual routines I wonder how others have spent today? Did you make the most of the time by getting odd jobs done, diy or spending time with family or did you manage to get away and have a short holiday?
An afternoon visit to the seaside and a catch up with brother and sister in law we haven’t seen in a while. Nice day but very, very windy.
It’s just another normal day to me. Went early into town as Primark was open. It was lovely walking around so quiet. Been packing this afternoon for my next holiday.
eyeballkerry You lucky thing, I went to Primark on Saturday and it was interesting to say the least trying to get around through the very busy store on my mobility scooter. It's ok I didn't hit anyone lol
JLouM Going to Lanzarote for two weeks and staying in a remote villa Just me and my husband, relaxing and taking each day as it comes. Lanzarote is like my second home.
EmmaWright762 Apart from coffee shops and Poundland and Primark no other shops were open. Lovely. After town we went to a large Tesco and that was pretty empty as well.
Had a lie in , cooked Sausage & Vegetable Casserole for today & tomorrow meal, made sandwiches & did chores then walked to work, first day back in nearly a week, took Fri-Sun to celebrate my birthday before that days off.
EmmaWright762 ...Thank you, I had a lovely birthday, our daughter is coming home next week for a few days & we will be going out for the Birthday meal we put off as she was ill.
Daughter is also making me the belated birthday cake, she couldn't make due to being ill..
Before our daughter goes back to her rented flat for the final few weeks we will visit & lay flowers on my Mum & late brother's graves, Mum would have been 95 on May 27th & my late brother would have been 61, her Granny would have been 101 on June 1st so we have sent money to partner's brother in Portadown nr Belfast & he will lay flowers on our behalf..
We aways pay our respects when we are over so we will be visiting my partner's Mum's grave in August..
Only knew it was a bank holiday as most of the shops on my high street were closed...I'm a live-in carer so l work, did some gardening, walked the dog, now having an early night as it will be the same tomorrow...
EmmaWright762 awe what a lovely thing to say, Thank you that has made me smile, have a great week
Pinkspirit you are amazing. I know the government and others don't appreciate you but I do.
Jerseydrew ...
I DO appreciate all the people who take care of their loved ones who don't get ANYTHING from our Government yet save them MILLIONS each years.. You do an amazing job, well done Pinkspirit & all the other unpaid carers..
As a Support Worker I salute you, I know how hard it gets..
I was supposed to be at work but I spent it at home with a sick child. Unfortunately the antibiotic cream didn't work on his Impetigo so had to go to the Dr and get a liquid antibiotic. Why does it have to be highly contagious and hard to get rid of?
EmmaWright762 thank you. He has had it since last Monday and starting to think it will never go away!
MrsCraig ...Hope your son isn't in too much pain & recovers soon...
Impetigo should only last 7-10 days..x
janphoenix51 Thank you. Luckily he isn't in pain, but he is finding it itchy. Unfortunately he has already had it for 10 days, hoping to speak to the Dr tomorrow, just to see if he will need more antibiotics.
We didn't plan anything as the weather forecast was awful but it turned out a lovely day and we just pottered around inthe garden, very therapeutic.
I spent mine working in a busy accident and emergency department but the other half and our kids went on a 3 night break to North Wales
Went to a nice antiques fair at the malvern 3 counties showground then for a nice pub lunch. Shame the weather was a bit rubbish
Was a work for a couple of hours then relaxed at home afterwards. If didn’t go to work I’d of gone to see my parents
Met some friends and went to the beach. The beach isn't the easiest to get to. It's a mission lots of stairs but worth the effort
I stayed home with a chest infection. Phoned my doctors on Friday morning, I couldn't get an appointment until Tuesday. Started my antibiotics on Tuesday.
