Basildon Grandad Kicks £150 a Month Lucozade Addiction
In the News
We all know the name lucozade and regard it as a healthy drink to take when you are poorly
But this man from Basildon became addicted to it , spending £150 a month on the drink
He became addicted to the caffeine in the drink and the sugar in it and caused him to put on weight and gave him severe heart problems
He managed to reduce the intake and lost two stone and improved his health
His addiction to caffeine actually started with drinking coffee when he was younger
So these are two things to watch

I love orange lucozade but I never once thought that it was good for us.I drink loads of water but do like the odd can of pop.
Tried Lucozade, but didn't like the taste so I was surprised how popular it is despite it.
I'd rather drink a soda like Coca Cola or Pepsi. Or just water.
My mother in law was having headaches from having too many lucozade I only have them now and again orange one is my favourite original one when I'm ill just because my mum used to give it to me
£150 a month on lucozade nuts. I hate caffeine type drinks like that. They smell nasty. I drink tea coffee and hot chocolate but at least they aren't rammed with extra junk unless I put it in
I must admit that I had an issue with lucozade a few years back, I use to do 4/5 bottles a day everyday for years, I managed to kick it, I don't drink it anymore
martinlufc5637 I knew a work colleague years ago addicted to coca cola in the same way, he didn't put weight on, he was very thin, he just looked very ill , yellowy skin, and was addicted to the caffeine, i don't know how he got on in the end, i just hope he managed to get off it like you M
OK so this man needs help. He needs to go to his GP and ask to be referred. He also needs to try every addiction website/group/club he can to see what help there is available including just advice. I wish him well and I think Lucozade should be ashamed.
