Conjuring universe, sinister series, insidious series. They are good, with jump scenes and the creepy music. Just seen the next movie in conjuring series is out towards end of year, next movie to watch (apart from Dune).

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) effectively creates a creepy atmosphere and has lots of memorable moments. An influential film with surprisingly little onscreen violence given it was caught up in the Video Nasties moral panic in the 1980s.

I am not a fan of scary movies but I did watch I know what you did last summer and jeepers creepers and actually quite enjoyed them.

I always found the film the descent to be pretty good. A lot of jump scares and it’s british. Always loved wicker man (original) as well

Psycho, of course. I only managed to watch 40 minutes of it before I switched channels. I tried watching another 40 minutes of it years later from where I had left off but I couldn't bring myself to watch anymore of it.
