Can Anyone Recommend a Good Whitening Toothpaste?

Ask a Question

An elderly friend has her teeth professionally whitened every few years but I can’t warrant the cost. I use oral b whitening toothpaste and can only see my teeth yellowing as I age.

If you know a brand that works please share your experience.

Don’t think any whiting toothpastes are any good. I even bought that purple one that’s always advertised (can’t remember the name) but the teeth go from stained to bright white with 1 brushing and then they show u the science behind it. Tried it and didn’t notice any difference at all

I've used whitening toothpaste for years and it does nothing for my teeth.

HEDGEHOGS I’ve tried most brands under £10 a tube. Just wondering what colour my teeth would have looked like 😂

I can recommend this home remedy method if you dont mind the taste

I use any cheap brand of toothpaste but dip the brush in bicarbonate of soda before brushing, its what they put in expensive toothpastes that you pay a premium for

My teeth are white without any special treatments , i could qualify for the 'hollywood smile'

I must admit the taste was not good when i first started doing this, but i am used to it now and never rinse or gargle when using , although i do use a none alcoholic mouthwash before brushing

Also i recommend using a soft bristle sonic toothbrush , i bought a rechargeable one from Temu for a few pounds

telmel lucky you. Can substitute baking powder for the bicarb? I’ll certainly try this. Thank you.

Pjran I think so P, i am used to the bicarb now though in fine powder form, its just part of my daily routine

I think the last time i went to the dentist was over 6 years ago despite a chipped tooth

But the bicarb seems to have strengthened my teeth and i don't seem to suffer toothache anymore, touch wood

I do have an apple a day though , that might be helping

I've heard a thing called oil pulling it's putting a spoon of coconut oil in your mouth and wash it around for 10 mins then really brush your teeth haven't tried it myself as I can't stand anything coconut

I use a bit of salt sometimes as well as bicarb .Not too often because it erodes enamel eventually.

Hi I use this. I drink lots of coffee and my teeth get stained after a while. I don’t need to use it much and it gets most off. I then just clean normally with toothpaste. Whenever I have used it mum always comments your teeth look nice today, what have you done? 😄. Also I like the price!! £1.79 Superdrug.

JLouM I’ve never tried this. I assumed powders are for smokers.

Pjran I don’t smoke, never have but coffee stains.

Eucryl's unique polishing action helps remove stubborn stains caused by smoking, tea, coffee or red wine, leaving teeth bright and feeling incredibly smooth and clean.

Charcoal is meant to be very good for a lot of things. I think you can get toothpaste with it in it. Or something with bicarbonate of soda is good for whitening too.
