Best WiFi?

What provider does everybody have for their internet? Would you recommend it to a new customer? I'm looking for a provider that isn't too expensive and has quite fast wifi.
im with virgin my son is autistic and relies on the internet on a day to day so we have the highest one it cost us around 68 amonth but get basic t.v and phoneline
and on a special add that if it goes off we will be the first to be back up and running due to his health
Anything but talk talk lol. I had 2 years of hell with them..
I'm now with sky, they're probably not as cheap as some providers, but I've never had any issues in the 3 years I've been with them.
It might interest you to know that TalkTalk are now going through a few years of hell with me. They tried to rip me off for £550 - but I've now got them squealing like trapped rats - they didn't realise I had a full transcript of the online conversation when I was mis-sold a contract, but changed their tune when I sent them a copy.
I did say I wasn't surprised at the actions of a company whose founder paid a then recently released fraudster for business advice, he, SIR Charles Dunstone, can't even take any action for defamation as TRUTH is a cast iron defence. The fraudster "Ernie Saunders" almost excelled himself when he conned his way out of prison on the grounds of "Alzheimers" but then really excelled himself by becoming the first person in medical history to make a full recovery.
A freedom of information request asking the number of millionaires who made large donations to BOTH main political parties now have knighthoods, might embarass some people too.
Oh... if I didn't make it too clear AVOID TALKTALK LIKE THE PLAGUE - they're the most complained about ISP (that's not defamation either).
davidstockport haha nice one! It's good to hear they're on the receiving end for a change!
LittleLisaMarie I haven't started YET - my complaint doesn't involve seeking compensation. I refuse to use an arbitration scheme - that would involve a "gagging clause" I'd rather let as many people know how they treat customers. I'll be happier knowing that for every pound they tried to rip me off for - I might cost them thousands in lost custom.
Their last attempt at resolving my complaint showed how thoroughly incompetent they are - they offered to credit my mobile phone account with what they thought would settle things. They failed to notice I haven't had a mobile phone account WITH THEM - since last year. As there was no contract involved I was determined this band of "con men" were not getting ONE more penny out of me than their mis-sold was costing me. I'm still locked into my broadband contract, which they REFUSE to let me leave. So the longer things go on the more it will eventually cost them. I was told by one of their "mouthpieces" that it would cost me more than it was worth to take the matter to court to apply for rescission of the mis-sold contract. Although true THAT'S FIGHTING TALK TO ME.
The above is not a "fictional" plot for a comedy film - although I'm hoping my planned YouTube video will cause some laughter.
davidstockport That was like me, I wasn't even out to get any kind of compensation for the 2 years of non-existent service. I just wanted OUT!.. I was just glad I had an easy way out at the time, and I bloody jumped at the opportunity.
These are by far the worse company I've ever had to deal with. How they still manage to trade is seriously beyond me.! Nothing but scam artists.
LittleLisaMarie It disgusts me that something isn't done to regulate them - perhaps I'm being cynical but perhaps donations to both main political parties might have something to do with it. The heavy fines that have been imposed on them are little more than a slap on the wrist. They can get millions to pay the fines by starting charging perhaps an extra £2 a month mid contract for things that had been free when the contracts started, that isn't my grouse but it might get a mention. Their flimsy excuse that "BT Charge for it" doesn't hold water.
The customers who say "it's only £2 a month - why bother!" don't help much.
If I could have £2 a month from all TALKTALK customers who say "it's only £2 a month" I'd be a billionaire too.
We’re with BT, we get a very strong signal throughout the home. I think they are more expensive but we’ve never had problem unlike friends who are with other providers.
We have super fast fibre with sky. Costs us £25 a month. It is fantastic, would definitely recommend it.
I have BT unlimited. I got it using uswitch that had the best offer with a £50 debit card reward. With the cash back I also get on a Santander 123 account each month this come down to around £26 a month. Ever since then they have offered me equivalent price to continue my contract again. I get 60Mb down and 20Mb up. The BT hub also gives the best wifi I have experienced. It all depends on your position to the exchange and junction boxes for a start. Whomever you are with you can always purchase a wifi extender so get excellent connection around the house.
Just recently started a contract with plusnet and that was probably one of the worst decisions I've ever made. The internet is sooo slow and randomly kicks me of the internet. To make it worse I'm stuck with them for 18 months
I'm not sure if it applies in your case but if you are consistently not getting anywhere near the speed you are paying for you might be able to be released from the contract. This MIGHT HELP https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/how-to-complain-about-your-broadband-speed
I'm with nowtv it's £15 a month for telephone line and broadband and never had a problem with it
