And a Big Congratulations to Marie Curie!

In the News

Well thank you very much to Marie Curie for putting out the most depressing advert on TV this year so far.

It's not just upsetting people in general, but upsetting people and their families who are going through cancer.

Well done Marie Curie on trying to bloody guilt trip me, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I obviously haven’t seen that one. I have incurable cancer and I get sick of the adverts about it

suevernon1968 Oh my days, I'm so sorry.

If you don't mind me asking a question, do the adverts make you upset? I know that if anyone in my family was suffering, it would affect me.

TheChimp it does affect me - i have a really positive attitude normally but those adverts that Marie Curie show do depress me. Its almost like someone is forcing me to look how my future may be. To look at me you would have no idea that I have incurable cancer. I use crutches- but that is because I have metal holding my spine together- nothing to do with the cancer. Not everyone who dies from cancer is as the adverts depict. I dont mind the cancer research adverts as they are positive. Where I have my cancer treatment you would never ever see the nurses cry. I have a strict rule that no tears are allowed in front of me. If I can keep positive and still enjoy life I dont want anyone bringing me down by crying in front of me.

Sorry - I feel like I have had a bit of a rant lol. I never mind answering any questions at all- people do need to understand that just because someone has incurable cancer doesn’t mean that we all just lie in a hospital bed waiting to die.

But seriously- if you have any questions just ask. I know that a lot of people are curious about certain things but dont feel that they can ask. Ask away - I will answer any questions x

TheChimp dont cry - I dont. Cos of my spine some mornings I wake up feeling like I’m recovering from an autopsy- but if I woke up and nothing hurt I would think I was dead !

Not seen it but the charities are getting a bit much these days. I give monthly to 4 or 5 and am constantly getting calls and texts about upping the amount. They need to be careful cause i think some of their business practices put people off more than anything
