Bio ethanol fuel fires to buy or not to buy!
Other
Hi, with gas and electric prices being crazy I wondered if anyone else had contemplated or got a bio-fuel fire at home. I'm contemplating getting one and wondered if anyone else had moved to bio-fuel and wondered what people's positive and negative experiences of them were.
I know they are (allegedly) better for the environment but are they as warm as a standard gas or electric fire? Which brand is best and is the fuel refill cost effective in the long term?
Sounds amazing. I think the biggest problem that most of the system is set in the flats, so I can not really change...
Bio-fuel fires look so modern and I like that you can move them about without wires or anything. It's cheaper than fitting a log burner by about £1800.00. I'm seriously thinking about going to bio-fuel as I'm sick of gas and electricity price hikes.
I've given in and bought one (after saving up for a bit). It looks really modern and hopefully the cost of heating will go down. My current gas/ electric heating prices are well over 100 a month.
It's free standing and doesn't require any installation fee. It just gets filled with fuel. Which I've found for 5L at £6.00 and apparently lasts 3 months (average)
I'll probably end up burning my eyebrows off but I'm going to see if this is any good.
I'll put up a review of it when it gets here. So other people know what to expect.
It Is cheaper than gas and electric and it does have an inoffensive smell. I love it! The refills are cheap in bulk and I can store them in the garage. I'd be worried about kids or pets but that's the same with any heat source. I'm very happy with it. Looks modern too. packs out a good amount of heat. Only downside is can't be refilled hot so gotta wait for it to cool before refilling with liquid.
