£275M Bitcoin Hard Drive In Landfill , Should Man Be Allowed To Try & Find It?

Ask a Question

Dad who binned £275m Bitcoin hard drive told 'no chance' he can search landfill www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/no-chance-dad-who-binned-32114384

Well if I’d binned 275 million I’d won’t to find it , but do you think he should be allowed to try and find it in the landfill ?

It’s an awful lot of money to lose but he already said goodbye to it. Imagine the disruption to the landfill people just trying to do their jobs and to keep things going properly for the rest of us. So no it’s his own fault.

I mean if it is possible, practical and safe for him to search then i think he should be allowed to. £275mn is a large sum of money.

If he does cause disruption etc he should have to pay though so if he’s willing to do that let him get on with it.

I remember reading about this a long time ago. I can’t believe he’s still attempting to search for it after all these years! Just imagine how much rubbish there would be to sort through

snoogans888 BTC has increased in value so it's even more than that, problem is it's unlikely he'll find it.

I'd bet £50 he won't find it. Sorry. 😅

Jeez, good luck with that but it's probably unlikely he'll find it.

I bought BTC worth £200 + a £50 hardware wallet (it's like a physical card to keep it private) and now that BTC has increased to £360.

Been thinking about just exchange that to Pounds and quit BTC, but I'll take my chances.

PhilipMarc OMG. I don't believe you! All my family and friends have been scammed by Bitcoin operators online.

jam45 I bought that BTC back in 2020, but I'd not suggest people to get into it.

Put it towards a Saving/Retirement account.
