I had a quick Google and found this

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has confirmed that drivers will have to pay a toll to use the Blackwall tunnel from 2025. East London's Blackwall tunnel is currently free to use but endures high traffic and congestion. Silvertown Tunnel is being built to divert traffic from the Blackwall Tunnel and will open in 2025.

martinlufc5637 I hate Blackwall tunnel (well done for translation, I was thinking that's one I've never heard of) because it is so old. I used to travel it regularly when parents were alive and always feared it caving in lol.

Come to think of it I don't like Dartford tunnel or QE2 bridge but luckily just short of phobic.

Lynibis Dartford tunnel and Black wall tunnel are two different tunnels or is a tunnel with two different names. That’s confusing.

shazzi you originally put Black Water tunnel but have now corrected it. Yes, definitely two different tunnels, I have travelled both regularly but Blackwall is all one word.

Lynibis Thanks for correcting me. I am new in London area and wanted to clear this confusion. So we have Dartford tunnel and Dartford bridge both in London. Plus Blackwall tunnel is completely different.

shazzi Dartford tunnel is near London but it is on the M25 connecting Essex and Kent. It is a bridge (QE2) going in to Kent and a tunnel coming back out to Essex.

I don't know how many tunnels are in London, Rotherhithe is one, seems to me mostly bridges across the Thames.

Maybe you can Google a map of London and familiarise yourself with the area. Or maybe buy a map of the area if you are staying in the London area.
