Are Bonfire Night Displays Too Expensive?

How much are you paying to attend a Bonfire display this year? 
I'm in a new area this year so I've been keeping an eye out for where they are going on this year and the one close by (well a 15 minute drive) is £9.50 for adults and £6.50 for kids. Then of course there a little fair there that costs, food, drinks, etc - it soon mounts up!
You can always buy food and drink then go park up close to the venue to see the fireworks for free, ok it's not the same as being at the event but it'll be a lot cheaper
AlanT16 I always take food to something like this or eat before hand but have a young child who eyes up all the sweets etc as they do.
Parking up nearby isn't an option for us as we need access to facilities 
I’m sorry but in this day and age should we be burning and polluting the air with fireworks. Let’s be greener please.
Defo.Battersea Park used to be free now they fence off and charge pounds. If you have a family of four or more that's a lot of shopping money!

My local area is charging £5 per ticket (kids and adults same price). We won't buy food and drink there we'll take drinks with us and we're eating before we go. I've even bought glow sticks from the Range for £1 to save some money. Having a 4-yr old with us, we know it'll be expensive if we aren't organised.
Yes they are .. and they should be replaced with drone shows to music ! ..less harmfull to the environment and do not scare wildlife or pets ..ban fireworks .
I have no idea how much our local one is as we never go to it. You can see it from our upstairs windows anyway. It is expensive but I suppose the councils have to generate some money from it.
Just go for an evening walk on November 5th. You'll see loads of free firework displays for free. You may find there is a hill nearby that gives you a great view of a wide area.
I am more of a fan of just looking out the window for a free show. I thankfully live on a hill that allows you to see multiple shows all at once. I did go to a couple of shows when the kids were younger so they have had the experience. I would never set off my own fireworks yet have seen the prices. Seems like a reasonable price for the hiring of an event, possible parking and lots of fireworks. If you do go I would always bring my own food and drink and that is were you really get ripped off at these kinds of events.
Find out where they are. The display is in the sky so just watch nearby and maybe get a take away McDonalds or something- will be cheaper.
Everything is business now and being put into pressure to be part of that business alot of families struggling to end their needs on top all the occasions are so much advertised & expensive that people can't enjoy these days in so many places
Ours is £5 a ticket and under 3s free, they always put on a good show and the money goes to charity so I don't find it to unreasonable. £10 would be to much though.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a large private display and entrance fee was a box of fireworks. There was then unlimited drink and a hog roast.
