In the News
Science never ceases to amaze me and i love to post this type of thing that can give hope to sufferers
There has now been a breakthrough in the way to treat inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
And even better news is the drugs already exist
With further research they are hoping to eliminate this crippling condition eventually once and for all

Looks an amazing break through for those that suffer from this terrible illnes. I myself have an ileostomy through cancer and totally understand the difference this will make to someones life
Really good to have some good news that doesn't make me well up! Probably too sensitive for my own good
It is so refreshing to hear 'good news'. I'm sure this will give hope to so many people and I can only hope that it is allowed, funded and actually prescribed. Many GPs are biased in their prescriptions to serve the pharmaceutical companies they are aligned with, whilst others do not want to prescribe expensive medicine. I would love to see all those who need this actually receive it.
I wish the system was different E and we were not at the mercy of pharmaceuticals, in an ideal world all the research would be performed by a government funded team of scientists paid for by the taxpayer, then , when the medicine became available , it would be on NHS prescription , but that's never going to happen , especially when we are already struggling to keep the NHS afloat
telmel About a quarter of NHS prescriptions are generic drugs bought from India nowadays I believe. I still don't understand why tax payers have to give a margin to commercial pharmacies though. Why can't the NHS run an efficient pharmacy themselves without the profit element. The NHS wastes so much money and does so much damage to the economy by importing a huge amount of staff and is hugely inefficient plus it is management heavy. If the NHS was well run and efficient and sourced as many products and staff from within the UK it would be in a far better state and why do so many people get NHS treatment who aren't eligible for free NHS treatment?
