Britain's Most Popular Chocolate Bar Has Been Chosen , is It Your Favourite?

Ask a Question

The UKs most popular chocolate bar has been chosen after a national poll for this year and it is, drum roll ''''' Mars Bar

I quite like a mars but my favourite is a snickers bar, the one voted top in 2020 , as i love a chocolate and nut combination

I wonder if it might be in decline due to nut allergies ?

Another winner was cadburys dairy milk voted top last year

I have also posted below the most popular chocolate bars in the world and some favourites that have been discontinued

What gets your vote ?

Nowadays I just buy the cheap 100g bars of chocolate typically milk chocolate which cost about 30-45p. I rarely buy branded chocolate and to be honest my favourite confectionary is toffee which is getting harder to find in some supermarkets nowadays. I can't remember the last time I had a proper Mars bar perhaps 10 years ago or more however I have the little ones in Celebrations mainly at Christmas.

BonzoBanana I like snickers so much B i have been known to make my own mixing a milk chocolate bar, crunchy peanut butter and soft toffee together , not exactly like the original but satisfies my cravings ☺️

BonzoBanana I stopped buying the cheap 100g years ago. Instead, I buy the supermarkets own brand of 200g for £1.30 now worth every penny. Like you I only eat mars bars from the Celebrations tubs offered by colleagues, families and neighbours.

jam45 I buy the 200g bars as well but normally I'm ok with a 100g fix.

telmel Sounds interesting. I was in Lidl today as had the £5 voucher off a £25 spend and picked up their knock off Mars Bars which were 6 fairly small bars for 99p. Comparing them to the little Mars Bars in Celebrations I would say they were just as nice or dare I say it even nicer. A decent sugar fix for the money.

MelissaLee1 I don't get the appeal of Lindt, its not that it isn't nice chocolate its just it not as nice as chocolate that is often a third of the price. However perhaps its that plain vs milk chocolate debate. I'm not a fan of plain chocolate its often like plastic and tasteless almost for me. I much prefer milk chocolate. Probably for every 100 milk chocolate bars I buy I perhaps pick up one plain chocolate bar just for the novelty factor. Fruit and nut is my favourite chocolate but I don't buy Cadbury's anymore just the knock off versions.

Love a Mars Bar and because I just bought a full box of them. Full size now yes they are my favourite. I dont like Nestle chocolate except Matchmakers. Rowntree Mackintosh was better. Nicer tasting Chocolate. A KitKat was a KitKat back then. Not anymore. And Cadbury has gone down hill for years.

I love chocolate but not much into bars. I wouldn’t say no if offered though. They are all ok. As for favourite it would probably be Fry’s mint or fondant cream bar as it’s dark chocolate. I much prefer dark chocolate and there isn’t much in multipack format. The slabs of chocolate vary quite a lot too, I only like a few, usually expensive ones.

The list surprises me don't mind a Mars but wouldn't have put it top of the list, and Munchies at number 4 really , haven't had these for years and don't see them in that many stores either.

Surprised Mars bar won as I find it’s a little plain. I enjoy a mars bar but it wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list.

KitKat at no 6? Until last year I used to eat a four-finger pack of it daily. I stopped buying it when it cost more than £2 for a four pack. I used to pay between £1-1.50 before.

Nope, not even close. I can’t stand these junk chocolates that barely have cocoa in them. It’s the 70-99% that do it for me, thanks

It's weird, I'll never buy a Mars Bar during the year, but when get one in a Christmas Selection Box I'll always think "why don't I have one of these more often".

My Favourite is a Boost or Double Decker

Frys Cream bars, Turkish Delight, Bounty, to be fait I love them all! I am happy with the Tesco pretend mars Bars but my family prefer the real ones, but only get them if they are on offer - which isnt that often these days. Always on the look out for anything new.

To be honest I can't remember the last time that I ate a Mars bar, probably in the ice cream bars about 20 + years ago. I love a Daim bar or Bounty.
