Burts bees...not Expired
Deals
Why has the deal I posted been marked as expired when it hasn’t expired ?? I’ve just checked and it’s still available
This seems to be an on going saga with lots of comments previously. I don't understand it myself unless some people are deliberately expiring deals so they can repost and gain the points, plus those for reporting. Do a search on 'expired but not expired' and a couple of threads will come up.
It might help if when a person who'd had a deal wrongly reported "as expired" complained - the person who'd wrongly reported it as expired, had perhaps five times the points they'd earned by maliciously reporting it deducted. increasing to 10 times the points the second time. The third time preventing them from reporting deals as expired completely or better still deleting their account/s.
Another thing that might be considered is not hiding the name of the member who report deals as expired - when the poster of the deal receives notification that their deal has been reported.
For those who haven't experienced the malicious reporting this is how it shows in notifications.
davidstockport Just noticed an AMAZING COINCIDENCE - the person who was listed in MY NOTIFICATIONS as showing a great interest in my postings a few minutes before I received notification that my only deal had been reported as expired is one of the two members trying to rubbish my deal a short time after. If I was the suspicious type I might think there was some connection.
I also noticed that that poster was harassing Lynibis (who's also had things reported as expired) at the same time. perhaps she will confirm I am not concocting this AMAZING COINCIDENCE.
I wonder if Tom Kelsey Deepak are interested in AMAZING COINCIDENCES it would make a very interesting topic. Might even get a female impersonator joining in.
davidstockport I have to admit it is a bit disheartening as well as annoying when this keeps happening !
nipperjwb Thank you for your message. Please note, when you receive a notification stating your post has been reported as expired, that does not mean it has neccessarily been expired. In many cases, the report will then be manually checked by a volunteer Mentor, who if they find the deal to still be working will mark the report as “incorrect”. Your post will stay live and not be expired. Should the person who incorrectly reported your post get noticed as consistently getting reports wrong, they will have their ability to report removed.
Should your post be expired wrongly, you can always edit it. Press the three dots “...“ > Edit > Unexpire > Save
nipperjwb It's more than disheartening - I have discovered some really good and genuine deals. But there's no way I'm wasting my time sharing them (too much hassle from the trolls) when any troll can report deals as expired etc. I don't want or need the points. But it appears some members will (and do) share deals that are nothing short of RIP OFF. Some will do anything for points.
I sympathise with some of those only here for points they could easily earn more (even with multiple accounts) than they get for the hours they spend copying deals from other sites.
davidstockport I am on here as I enjoy it... earning the points are a bonus. Its nice to be part of a friendly community.
nipperjwb Unfortunately although a friendly community for many - there are a few of us who haven't always seen it as such. I've had one TROLL telling me because I hadn't posted deals I shouldn't be here. After me telling him that those of us who actually use the site for purchases, actually finance this site - if those deals are through affiliate links, he changed his tune (and user name) before virtually saying those doing so and financing him were mugs.
Tom Thanks for your reply - my deal was reported as expired then removed (later reinstated after I complained) then reported again. I fail to understand how the three dots on a wrongly removed deal can be clicked on (to unexpire it) When after removal there is no deal existing to click the three dots on.
Perhaps I'm missing something - can you clarify?
i think it would be great if we could see who expires the deal....because than it can be tracked if they shared it again
Irrespective of whether they share the deal - I don't think their identity should be hidden. If it's a genuine "expired" I can't see it does them any harm.
