Buy a Discount Online?
Other
Iv been looking at some trainers for a long time and today decided to get them! When I got to the till it says students get a 20% discount off sale with unidays! Gutted I haven't got unidays I looked on eBay and decided to buy a code for a pound so would get 7 quid off or 6 pounds after I spent the pound!!! Anyone done this? Any other way to get these codes?
Hi mumofthree what do you mean you brought a code for a pound of eBay. I never know about this. I buy a lot of eBay and I've never come across it. How do you go about getting a code. They do nice trainers on every thing £5.00. I've brought a lot from them and its been very good stuff. And other one is £10.00 or less and they to are very good. I buy stuff from them. I have brought trainers from them and they only cost me £2.00 and they were good hard wearing still wearing now and I brought them last summer.
Nice I love a bargain, sadly Iv got very wide feet and bad knees so I can only buy certain trainers some are quite expensive. I bought a unidays discount code for office so I could get an extra 20% off that I couldn't get otherwise
I believe the UNIdays discount codes can only be obtained legitimately by 6th form students and those at college or university. (Proof being required by the college's or uni's email system)
I suspect that many who obtain them legitimately then sell the codes to people who should not be using them via Ebay. Just sending the codes by email. (so no expense incurred)
From what I gather this is against Ebay rules. Furthermore when things go wrong the seller has no proof that the code has been sent so if the buyer applies to PayPal for a refund the seller might incur a £14 charge. (then starts screaming - I shed many a tear for them - does anyone else cry when they laugh?).
Put simply: unless you're a student over 16 the codes shouldn't really be used - and those selling them need to be very careful.
this is a revelation to me. didn't know about selling codes on e bay but to be fair I seldom buy anything on e bay
In certain circumstances the selling of codes is permissible - but it is a very shady area. The buyer gets little or no protection if things go wrong and the sellers are probably breaking the terms and conditions attached to their acquisition of the codes.
I realise I wouldn't have much protection so decided to only risk a pound, the seller had good feedback so looked legitimate. Maybe just a student trying to earn a few extra pounds, just wish shops would extend it to everyone!!
