Do You Still Buy Stamps?

Ask a Question

Do you still buy stamps?

The cost of stamps is going up with a first class one setting you back £1.35.

Almost everything I send is ebay sales mostly so I just buy prepaid labels so never actually buy actual stamps. I've not actually handled a stamp for years I think.

Occasionally need to send a letter, but have only be using second class for a good while now . Currently they are 75p increasing to 85p in April , so still a 50p saving on first class

Fortunately I have a few stamps but this latest increase will deter me from posting Christmas cards this year.

Pjran I had loads of stamps purchased from 2012 and I exchanged them all for the new stamps last year. Lucky me. But I still buy stamps if I go to the Post Office, and they weight the letters/small packages. I am not allowed to use my own stamps according to the PO counter staff.

jam45 that might be their rule but when my husband sent a recorded delivery he took our pile of stamps to the post office with him.

A few but not many. Deliver most things by hand or electronically now.

I am part of mail agents where they reward you in stamps so I have not purchased stamps in the last few years.

I don't buy them now as I get them for free off an app. Have suddenly been sending loads of letters to family and friends literally all around the world.

HEDGEHOGS Are they still legal? I thought that you had to use the ones with a code on them now 🤔

HEDGEHOGS I think the receiver of your old/invalid stamps will be sent a postcard telling them to go the Sorting Office and pay for it. £2.00 plus if I remember.

I still use them when I send handwritten letters to my family in Scotland

I never really post anything or send letters, Christmas cards I used to send then stopped. I think now most shops nowadays sell stamps only in books, so you can't just buy 1. The Post office may sell single stamps as they get them from Royal Mail.
