Carpet Cleaner Advice

Ask a Question

I am considering whether I should buy a carpet cleaner or a steam cleaner that can do carpet. My carpet is really old and dirty. Always vacuumed but never ‘cleaned’. It’s a large area as lounge diner. I have a feeling we are both suffering allergies. Me with a persistent cough and husband persistent runny nose. Does anyone else use a steamer instead?

I tried one for a while but my electrics are super sensitive and it kept tripping the switches so I gave up in the end.I think they are a great idea generally though.

I use a Steamer. With my Steamer not sure about the rest you get a Carpet attachment where It glides over the Carpet to rejuvenate It. It does the job too.

How strange, I had a carpet cleaner delivered yesterday. It is a Bissell power clean and I ordered from Amazon. It was on offer for £99 instead of £169, the reviews were excellent. Haven't used it yet but not sure I would use a steamer except on small areas.

Edit: it's now £124.99😕

Ask your friends if you can borrow theirs. I read you shouldn’t use a steamer on laminate floors.
