Do you celebrate your birthday?
I love celebrating my birthday with a day off work and going out for the day with my family, but I've heard a few people lately saying they don't do anything for the day at all.
My birthday is in December and it’s just not worth the hassle of trying to get in anywhere. Everything is fully booked and crowded and expensive. I just take time off and celebrate with get togethers at home.
My birthday is same day as Queen Victoria's,24th May, I always celebrate it with a meal out with my partner & daughter.
This year it will be extra special as it's the day our Student Radiographer 25 year old daughter finishes her Degree, she has the date on her landyard!
Next year I will turn 60!

Leannexxx I embarrass my kids but my older grandkids think its great. I am disabled and sometimes cant use my crutches- my kids refuse to push me in the wheelchair cos I have a laugh and shout things like “ learner driver mind out”. The grandkids ask to take me out in the wheelchair lol.
suevernon1968 lol my mum would go in farmfoods and say be careful window licker coming through as I was pushing her
Leannexxx i love it ! Even though I am disabled etc etc my sense of humour seems to be getting better (or worse if you ask my kids lol). There was a completely empty freezer in Iceland once - so i sort of climbed in leaving my legs sticking out. Kids have never come to Iceland with me since.
suevernon1968 now I don't blame them on that one lol but it's good that you don't let it get you down
SamGoodship maybe go to one of the kids houses for a meal. It’s difficult for me to get around and I tire quickly. But it also means I get cuddles from my younger grandkids which is fabulous.
Leannexxx Persons who behave in a rowdy and intimidating way lol.Hell's Grannies.
Leannexxx variations on a theme lol.In Lewis Carroll aka Alice In Wonderland Humpty Dumpty says "Words mean what I want them to! Handy that.
No I don't celebrate my birthday, the older I get the less it means to me, it's just another day
SamGoodship haha I meant like I know people that like parties etc, that's not my thing.
Not really tbh, i usually purposely work on my birthday but i have been for days out in the past. I just kind of feel i can do nice things whenever i feel like it so why wait for my birthday
I just love poodling around town doing my own thing and eating/drinking whatever I like without feeling guilty.Things I otherwise avoid buying I treat myself to.
SamGoodship It is trust me. I have always been responsible for others so unqualified /unquantified free time is ever a blessing.
I don’t like big birthday parties. I had to celebrate my 40th with a party and after that I said never again. I don’t like the limelight so cringed when a special cake was presented and I had to do a speech.
Pjran I'm not a great one for crowds either and although I have made speeches in the past I dread them now.
It's my sons 24th today. We celebrated last night at ours with a few drinks & i cooked. Tonight his housemates are throwing him a small get together.
We celebrate all our birthdays in some way. I like to spoil people on their day.
Yes I like to celebrate my Birthday now whilst my mum is still alive, just to show her that I appreciate what she has done throughout my life.
Nope!, my ex never did cards or gifts on my birthday so for the last eight years it's just another day too me, no cards, no gifts not even a happy birthday spoken to me.
Pinkspirit I think you should buy one of those big badges with birthday girl on and see if you are approached by strangers.I did once .Two people wished me Happy Birthday.
MelissaLee1 l have a big birthday coming up in 2026 so l will promise to get a badge a see what happens
Pinkspirit And treat yourself to your favourite cake as well.I love Cherry Bakewells and Apricot sponge.
MelissaLee1 l will need one of every cake in the bakers as choosing is my downfall
Haven't celebrated my birthday for a long time. It was my 30th during the pandemic and I was delighted to have the perfect excuse for not having a party or seeing anyone. I put all my effort into my sons birthday now.
Since having kids I don't celebrate my birthday, I don't tell anyone In work it's my birthday either. I don't like the fuss.
Never celebrate it only when was a kid
Nowadays a best friend of mine would come over for a visit or we go out for a meal
