What Unique Treasures Have You Found at Your Local Charity Shop?

I love browsing in my local charity shops, when I was younger I used to have a book called "The Dangerous Book for Boys", but I wasn't sure what had happened to it, it's RRP is about £20 and I bought it from Cancer Research last week for £1.50

I always pop into Charity Shops. Have picked up some brilliant bargains in the past. We have a local 99p charity shop & often can pick up some nice bits there. It's very hit & miss tho. Couple of months ago i even managed to pick up a brand new Laura Mercia bath set for 99p. It retails for around £30 upwards.

I went to mine one day and managed to pick up a hp monitor, Keyboard & Mouse for £15

Nothing wrong with shopping in Charity shops, I donate and I also buy.

I love charity shops. I regularly call in to drop off donations and come out with a bag full of purchases.

I once bought a pair of Armani jeans for my friend for 20p on the bargain rail as they were tiny!

Before Christmas, I got a beautifully shaped velvet sofa for £20. The arms and back have faded in the sun, so will be getting it recovered. It was even delivered for free!

I have always shopped in charity shops....i give money and get something for it....so we both win.

I also volunteered in a charity shop for 12 years....made me feel great about myself and made a small differance to the charity.

Hi, I only started looking in charity last year and really enjoy it. I've picked up a few board games that were sealed and other bargains. I've donated items and it's lovely to help a charity

I get so many books from an Oxfam bookshop. I've also been in to drop things off and my kids have spotted old battered toys that I've ended up buying and they've loved them for years.

Didn't buy anything but went into a couple yesterday to give a load of clothes. Was turned away from the first one as they had been given too much stuff!

I always visit charity shops, and most of the tine there are great bargains to be had. I love it when they reduce the items further - have bagged loads of items for a few quid, and will continue to do so p

Often buy books from charity shops and donate items. Probably for every 20-30 charity shops I browse in I buy about 1 item. They are such random shops with such a random selection of items and occasionally some price their products quite high. Sometimes you can see a room for staff full of more stock that hasn't been put out yet and that looks more interesting than what is on the shop floor. I've also seen donations refused too. It's an annoyance of mine when the stock is free but they price it too high so it doesn't shift and their store rooms are full of stock waiting to be displayed especially if they end up refusing donations. My favourite charity shops are where they pretty much put everything on display even if it makes the shop tatty with lower pricing. I find them far more interesting.

Sadly, my local charity shops are rubbish. I go in them but don't come out with anything anymore. No decent clothes, china, books, etc. It is just over priced junk.

Hey have some great things in. One of my local charity shops had a brand new with tags river island dress shame it was a size 6 if was bigger or i wad that size i wouldve bought it.

I always donate to my local charity shops but find some of my local ones can be quite pricey for some second hand items. I do enjoy sometimes having a nosey to see if I can find any unique items or bargains though

Cant complain yiu get some great finds in the second hand shops.

I love charity shops for second hand books! if I’m honest I find other stuff in my local ones overpriced, especially clothes. when there are sites like everything5pounds around I dont really want to spend more on second hand stuff! but that’s probably just me being tight x

I love a good browse round charity shops but as other said way over priced when few doors up you have a pep and Co but there is one that has some good bargains

I love chariry shops they are like treasure coves all different and unique a trip down memory lane or true bargains i love it

Someone I know found the entire series of Horrible Histories books for less than £20 when she was looking online it wouldve cost over £50 what a bargain

Over Christmas I've had a few "sort outs" and donated to my local Salvation Army charity shop and I've had a nosey when I've been there. The 1st time I got 4 jumpers & 2 tops which were all on the £1 rail, all really good condition and I got tipping point board game (brand new) which we'd been wanting and it was £3.50!!

I went in to donate again on Tuesday and I bought a Zara winter jacket, immaculate condition for £10 - usually cost around £70 new so I was really pleased!! I do love a charity shop but its hit and miss with them.

I’ve recently been looking at purchasing some furniture from there. But I found that social media sites more useful for this sort of thing. I took the kids there a few months ago and they picked up some great bargains in the toy section. Our charity shop is based in the retail park so they have so much selection

Yes I love browsing my local charity shops. Picked up a lovely warm jumper for £3 yesterday and a winter hat for £1

I posted this a few years back, sad live not been shopping there for a while and I feel I should get back into browsing. I have however donated a lot of things because I’m slowly decluttering. Having a clear out feels good

One of the charity shops in my shopping centre has gone up market in their price for obvious goods that should never be stocked let alone sold.

Went into a charity shop today and saw a small tatty book I was interested in and a common title, expecting it to be about 50p and it was £2. I think I saw the same book new from the Works for less a while back which I regretted not getting at the time. There was an old manual film camera in there I think for £40 which you could probably get for a lot less on ebay even as a buy it now. I think I've seen it there for about 3 months. Lovely friendly woman who runs the shop but the pricing is madness.

I love my local charity shops. most of my clothes are from there and no one would know. I also donate my old clothes back there, so they do the full circle lol.

I love a charity shop. I get all sorts from them. Found some amazing 1970s bits in my local shop. Im not into modern bit. I've a lot of furniture in my lounge from the 70s. I'd go for older but can't afford it. I get bits from ebay that I can afford

Ah man I love charity shops! I feel like it’s a real treasure hunt I enjoy it so much and have found amazing things to sell online and to give as presents

If you knit or crochet items I recommend visiting charity shops for the buttons. Buy a garment and remove the beads buttons buckles etc. Brand new buttons are a ridiculous price on the high street
