Checking in at Airports

Other

I tend to rush for public transport, mainly as you don't know when the next one will arrive. But when it comes to waiting to board a plane, I am happy to wait as I don't feel the need to put myself into a restricted area any longer than necessary - although I still want to get on as quickly as possible so I can feel as if I am starting my holiday

Do you wait or can't you wait to get on?

Easy to wait. Because already have a seat and no cabin baggage then it's ok. But if there is limited space then will try and get on quicker to get the cabin bag on. But don't usually travel with a cabin bag just a back pack so it's ok

same here - there was one time I travelled and there was no cabin space available, as everyone had trolleys and bags, and that was quite annoying. I'm just happy with a backpack and have it under the seat I front for easy access

even if there is no cabin space then they will put your bag up front for you. I don't understand people who rush to get on the plane.

perhaps they just want to get on quickly so they can start to have their nap

perhaps you are right hspexy and they just are desperate to get on and seated so they can have that nap.

it might do, depending on the airline. The bigger carriers will do a lot to ensure passengers are onboard before they take off, even if it causes them delays, but the budget ones are more likely to just go - and the passenger who failed to get on will be penalised

I can't recall flying when I haven't been allocated a seat so don't really care, I do tend to get on mid-way when there's usually still space left for overhead carry on luggage near my seat.

I tend to be over cautious going to the airport and leave plenty of time to get there and check in. I'll have a wander, grab a coffee and relax for a while. There is always the chance you will be delayed on the road or on public transport getting to the airport. Consequently, I don't want to risk missing the flight ✈️

ah yes, that is the worst thing that could happen, so I always get there early too, as I can always relax after I get there (usually after passing security)

That depends on where we are going. It’s bad home which 10/11 hours long I prefer to go early and wait

Idc much, just get there, check which gate to go and wait to board. Can't really be bothered to buy food or a drink on airport cause they charge way more than the usual price. As such, I'd rather eat and drink at home.

During the flight, I just watch some show or a movie and so time passes quicker, plus, don't have to listen to other passengers or kids crying.

A small bottle of Coca Cola for €3.. lol.

there was one time we took a late flight, and Boots had just done their reductions on their sandwiches, and they were pretty generous reductions as well, which I'd expect as they only have so much footfall to get rid of excess food. Mind you, I prefer hot food. One of the worst places I stopped over was Charles de Gaulle in Paris - they charged 10 euro for a weak deal and I believe the coke alone was indeed about 3 euro
