Bit of a blanket answer but I believe that people who have more have a moral obligation to give to people who have less - in whatever capacity or whatever location. I'm not sure I necessarily categorise myself in the first category (relatively!) but we do try and do our best. I prefer supporting smaller charities with less overheads and less admin costs.

I go along with that jo. I hate that so much is sent to countries that have space programmes etc, corrupt leaders where aid finds its way to their private jets and lifestyle and I hate that a huge percentage of the donations go to admin and fat salaries.

I do not go without, nor am I well off but at Xmas i do give to the homeless where they feed and look after them over xmas. Usually it is the Salvation Army as I trust them to administer the funds properly.

I always thought that the admin costs etc for children in need charity only came from the interest received and not the donations directly
