Christmas Cupboard?

Ask a Question

I put the first stocking fillers into my christmas cupboard today. I wondered if anyone else had a specific secret christmas store.

Been buying since January, have quite a few bits, it's getting more difficult to find what to buy now kids are getting older, my youngest is 9 now and she says she's not into dolls/Barbies ect.. anymore 😔

I always buy things when I see them and store them in the spare room for birthdays too (or on top of my wardrobe). I used those printer paper boxes so I can stack on top of another or if it’s larger it’s balanced on top. As it’s only a single room and it’s packed with other stuff too. It’s always a nightmare getting things out 😂😂

Years ago when the children were younger I used to store their presents in the loft. I would start in the January sales then forget what i had purchased so it was a surprise for me as well.

Well done you. I haven't quite started yet but as there are no children at my home anymore I don't bother hiding the gifts so well. They tend to end up in carrier bags and put away in corners or in the bottom of my wardrobe.

I haven't bought the items yet but have a list of items to get and I'm saving up my survey vouchers. Once I hit my target amount I will start ordering. I only buy for my son, one of his friends, my parents and my mother in law. I will need to find a different hiding place though as I think my son has his suspicions.

My mum always used to hide stuff throughout the year, to save for Christmas. Problem was she hid things too well and we didn’t find it till it was out of date 🤣

I usually always buy all yr long any bargains I see for Christmas but haven’t this year as yet. But my granddaughter is 18 next yr and I seen this video of 18days to ur 18th where they had 18presents wrapped up and each had a no and she was able to pick any no each day and I’ve decided to do that and have started buying for that even though it’s not till next July 😂

We have already bought presents throughout the year, last years Christmas pudding only got ate last night ha ha. I do have some large packs of quality street that I bought after last Christmas in the sale and they'll be good enough fo this year.

Foods like Christmas cake and pudding last well beyond their sell by date and make a surprise treat at any time. I don't have a Christmas cupboard as such but I do take advantage of any food offers especially meat which I freeze and use at Christmas.

I always start the year with good intentions to start a Christmas stocking drawer for my grandchildren’s stockings but usually end up panic buying extra bits in December cuz I give them the bits I have bought when they stay over LOL

I have 1 large Christmas pudding from 2022. BBE 2023. Not bothered about the date as Its a rich fruit cake that will last way past Its sell by date & I bought 3 small ones from Iceland after Christmas 2023, cheap.

kitty88uk exactly you end up buying tat or stuff that's plastered in Christmas themed which won't be used the year

Jerseydrew Yeah that’s right! Don’t need to restrict yourself to buy gifts 🎁 when it’s that festive season cause it will definitely cost more any not many choices!

I have a small spare room so everything goes in there. I actually have a list in there which I will write what i have bought.

As Christmas gets closer I will write my Christmas list and see what i have.

This site has saved me a fortune. I also have birthday presents in there. But my memory is getting bad - and I have 11 grandchildren the birthdays are printed out on an excel spreadsheet - how sad is that lol

Yeah i buy all year round in sales (with people in mind) then put up for christmas and birthday. It just helps me spread the cost more than anything, otherwise christmas becomes ridiculously expensive!

I start looking / buying next years Christmas presents from the Christmas Eve sales and buy lots in January sales and new stuff from charity shops and carboots all year round and on pages like this when i see a deal. I have a loft full of boxes and a secret cupboard space in my bedroom for stuff i want to hide from my children or expensive stuff i want to keep an eye on like jewellery.
