Cinema - Do You Take Your Own Snacks?

Taking your own snacks to the Cinema - Savvy or Cheeky?
I always do a trip to the Supermarket before hand and get a couple of drinks and snack from there because Cinema prices make me cry
Very rare that I go to the cinema because I hate the noise and smell of all the other people and their food. But if I go I will grab snacks from else where as the prices in the cinema are insane
Not somewhere we go often anymore , but when the kids were younger we used to go to the kids films every Saturday morning, and also to other films in the school holidays, and yes we always took all our own food and drink
We go to cinema quite often and I always take some sweets with me. Prefer jelly babies so something not wrapped.
We've always taken our own snacks and drinks to the cinema, used to love going into Woolworths and treating ourselves to pick and mix in the day. Now it's usually just the shop nearest which is either Sainsbury or B & M.
I did take a big bar of chocolate into a cinema earlier this week that I'd bought in a nearby Sainsbury's. But, I don't usually eat during screenings. Although, once or twice a year I'll order a pizza from the cinema menu, which they'll bring to your seat(s) when it's ready. I often buy a coffee at the cinema - with a membership discount it works out cheaper than coffee shops.
Yep. No one really cares as long as it’s not obvious. I ain’t paying the prices they charge for snacks
We rarely go to the cinema as the ticket prices are so expensive but we always used to take our own snacks with us.
MrsCraig Have you ever tried using any deals like Meerkat or Prime 2 for £10 at Odeon?
SamGoodship we have in the past, but we've moved and the closest Vue cinema is an hour away and nearest Odeon is 4 hours away! We have a local one but it is independent so can't use the deals.
I also take my own snacks and drink. As the prices are high compared to the cheaper shops and you can take smaller bags of snacks in as the ones in the cinema are big.
Don’t go much now the grandchildren grown up but I always too food and drink as the prices were stupid and I just couldn’t afford them
I rarely go to the cinema but yes I do take my own stuff with me. I usually take a bottle of pop/juice with some Maltesers or a chocolate bar.
The children don't like going to the cinema anymore but we used to take tons of sweets and juice in with us because it's cheaper and you don't have to wait in a queue and can get sat down comfortably
Oooh now you're asking. It's been many years since I've been to the cinema, mostly due to disabilty though. I used to take my daughter and rather than pay the rediculously high prices in there I definitely took our own junk food. I even recall taking my daughter to her first ballet and she had a small satin handbag filled with pic a mix LOL
Haven’t been to cinema for yrs, when kids were little always went & stocked up before we got there
When my kids were younger and I took them to the cinema I would have gone to local shop on way to buy their treats and drinks etc as it was expensive enough taking 4 kids to cinema without having to pay cinema prices for treats and drinks. Nowadays if I go I just buy popcorn and drinks in cinema cos it’s usually just 2 of us r 1 of grandkids want to see a particular movie and gives me chance for 1 on 1 time with them
yes i buy from a shop first. On occasion i will get my son a hot dog its only time he gets them.
Well I must have been to the local cinema about 15 times last year and everytime I went I always had my dinner before going so never needed to get anything from the cinema.
Especially after looking at their ridiculous prices.
I can't afford those.
Get my popcorn from supermarket and have at home
A fair few of the cinema chains now allow you to take your own snacks in which i usually do. I remember as a teen always trying to sneak stuff in
Will occasionally treat myself to an ice blast but the snack prices at cinemas are ridiculous
I do sometimes treat myself to a bag of popcorn when I go to the cinema but I think the amount they charge is extremely unfair so I would have no problem taking my own treats with me.
Last time I went to the cinema was in Australia. It was Ant Man in 4D so there was no way of eating snacks. But if it’s a normal film then 100% I take my own snacks.
We always took our own drinks and sweets, as
they were far to expensive in the cinema, I always used to hide them when going in. It was only years later I found out it didn’t matter, you were allowed too.
Haven't gone cinemas in a while but I remember once buying a dip platter and tortilla chips as my alternative
Last time I went to a cinema was in 2019, watched "Rambo: Last Blood" and haven't been to one since (movies just kinda suck).
But uh, snacks? No. I don't want to be eating or making noise, I just want to watch it.
In 2024 I think I'll buy a ticket to watch this masterpiece:
The first one was amazing so this one has to be at the same level or better.
Once or twice I've treated myself to a small selection of the pick and mix, though if I filled the bag it would cost me about £50! I like the nachos with the hot cheese, jalapenos and the hot chill sauce with tomatoes or something in it, and those ice-cream 3 dollop sundaes with the hot chocolate sauce on top, so I'll usually pig out on both of those. Not into the gelato gelatine ice-cream though, it's not right, I was sick last time I had 3 scoop sundae of that, though I'd already been through a tray of nachos beforehand and a beer so may have overdone it a bit. That said, I was watching Openhiemer at the time and was really bored, plus it went on forever. Pfer Ben and Jerrys with those fudgy fish bits.
