Clothes You Can and Cannot Wear on Tv Game Shows
In the News
Well besides being suitable and good enough to be accepted on a gameshow it seems you also have to wear the right clothes
This is not snobbery, but it is to do with how colours and patterns react with the cameras
The two guilty colours are bright white and jet black that are a no no
You also cannot wear anything with a close check, or a close stripe as these will strobe on camera
Then you cannot wear a logo on your shirt for example, this is against regulations and could be classed as advertising
Shows like Pointless allow you to bring up to 6 different outfits, and if still not suitable they have spares in the wardrobe department
One other outfit i believe you could not wear but not mentioned is your 'birthday suit' ,
I did already know this and not just for game shows. But with regard to your first sentence I believe there should be 'rules' for what is worn on real tv. No way do I want to watch the chase or tipping point with guys in shorts and vest or women with their boobs hanging out. I cringe at Love Island outfits (which I will not watch but it is rammed down your throat all over tv) and tbh I don't care if I am called a prude.
martinlufc5637 I hope it was a Brucie special M , if it was when Larry Grayson was hosting the outfit might have been a bit flamboyant lol
telmel I remember he won nearly all the prizes on the conveyor belt, and sold them all in the pub for beer money lol
I have been in the audience for many tv shows and they definitely banned any logo t shirts. And obviously birthday suits but they never put that in the small print!
The podcast that this article was listed from is full of very interesting information and is well worth a listen. Logos are a no-no, and quite a few colour combinations are banned. They often ask contestants to turn up with several different outfits with quite strict guidelines, but often do have standby sets available in case for whatever reason they dont work on screen or just get soiled in some way.
