All about Conjoined Twins and How They Live Their Lives
Other
I found this article fascinating , albeit very sad , so i did a bit of research to add to to it and found these facts
Conjoined twins occur once in every 50,000 to 60,000 births. Approximately 70 percent of conjoined twins are female, and most are stillborn. Approximately 75 percent of conjoined twins are joined at least partially in the chest and share organs with one another
How many conjoined twins are there alive in the world ?
There are approximately 12 pairs of conjoined twins alive in the world today, at least those documented
To move on to the article , there are some facts you would not think about unless you were in their position
For instance , studying at school or higher education,, trying to keep each twin isolated from copying the others work
Travelling , each twin needs their own passport but only needs to purchase one flight ticket
And the lead question is what happens if one twin commits a crime, do they imprison both twins or neither as the other will be innocent ?
Finally, and the saddest question, what happens to the remaining twin if one dies ?
The world's oldest conjoined twins, Lori and George Schappell, died at age 62 in Pennsylvania, USA

There was a recent documentary about twins living in Cardiff, they are school age and was focused around their school. These were female and very much different personalities. They had health problems which must have been worrying for the Dad. It’s amazing how they deal with the day to day situations as I never feel our country’s that great in terms of practical purposes if your body different you need more space etc I imagine it must be a struggle and they and their parents are very brave. I read an article yesterday which made me think of a situation hadn’t even thought about is, what happens when one of them dies.
telmel sorry I missed that at the end. I think if it were me as the parent, I think (although you never know unless you’re really know until you’re in that position) I would when they were born see if they could be separated so at least one of of two maybe able to live a normal life. The death and prison angle are enough alongside the how can they each have an intimate relationship with anyone or day to day life just using toilets in public would be a nightmare, I do think life is very cruel.
Couldn't imagine being joined to my brother lol, definitely no dodgy curry nights, I find it all a bit weird to be honest
It's a fascinating subject and relieved that my identical twin granddaughters separated properly. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lori_and_George_Schappell. Generally I would say both die
I find this all so sad - but also interesting. I have now bookmarked a couple of websites to read.
One of my foster daughters got pregnant very young and luckily had ‘normal’ identical twins- apart from they both weighed over 7lb each - which is rather large for twins !
