It Can Cost You More than Your Flight to Park for a Week at the Airport
In the News
When will the motorist cease to be ripped off ?
If its not fuel, insurance or charging costs it is something else , now parking.
Gatwick airport, voted the most expensive to park for a week has increased its costs by 260 percecnt
It now costs £257 , more than most cheap air fares for the priviledge of leaving your car there for 7 days
Some other airports are not far behind, of course they will all follow suit eventually
London City Airport is the second most expensive, at £171 and Belfast City Airport a close third
And even if you try to avoid parking there you will still be charged to be dropped off
Bring back the horse and cart i say, i would like to see them slap a fine on the horse if someone stopped their cart on those double yellows

I'm so lucky where I live we get dropped off then hubby takes the car home and buses/walks back. It's a 20 minute walk but with bags it's a pain. Downside unless it's a direct flight we have to get a connecting flight from the uk so used to expensive flights as it costs a fortune to just leave the island
Jerseydrew You could say its swings and roundabouts J, although more about roundabouts
I shouldn’t say lucky but as my husband has a disable pass you can book in and get free drop off at the airport. Not sure it covers all but definitely Gatwick and Heathrow.
I think the trick with airport parking is to book it as soon as possible.
I had to drive and park at Stanstead a couple of years back for a Christmas trip to Copenhagen, I was amazed on 3 consecutive days that I checked parking prices jumped £5 every time.
blacklabrador Yes B, it is the same with flights, the closer they are to your departure the more expensive
It is pretty ridiculous, same as when you get flights hundreds of miles away for cheaper than a train journey of an hour.
We do seem to get ripped off a lot in this country
