Curry. What's Your Favourite?
Ask a Question
Most of us like a curry every so often, either homemade or takeaway, so what is your favourite go to dish? What do you have with it? Rice, chips, naan?
Myself, I'm quite partial to a chicken dhansak with keema rice/naan and some bombay potatoes
Chicken tikka masala with rice , onion bhaji and peshwari nan , with mango chutney of course
I know chicken tikka isn't an original indian dish and it was manufactured for us in the UK , but it is still my favourite
Snoozer282 telmel I was once shown how to make authentic butter chicken and the amount of ghee in the recipe was unbelievable. The ones in the supermarkets and the run of the mill takeaways are completely different
I'm pretty boring the only curry I will eat is a chicken rogen josh, always with rice and chips, and a couple of slices of bread
Chicken tikka masala mostly. But I do try a lot of different Indian dishes. Oh, and I love an onion salad
I mix it up most times but my most regular is claypot lamb with a keema naan. Side dishes I like a saag paneer and a tarka daal with loads of garlic.
I only buy supermarkets' chilled curry meals. That is enough curry dishes for me at least once a month.
I don’t eat curry, I can’t stand the slightest bit of spice as have an extremely delicate mouth even cracked black pepper set me on fire and watery. Plus even the smell puts me off .
I usually order a chicken Rogan Josh with garlic naan and tikka chips. If we're having it at home I make chicken tikka with rice as that's what my husband prefers. Haven't made or ordered a curry in months though
Chicken Madras, rice, onion bhajis and a garlic nan bread. Also like Balti. The only vindaloo I can take is supermarket vindaloos especially tinned vindaloos which tend to be the mildest, the real takeaway vindaloos are too hot for me and I think I would just burst into flames if I tried a phal curry again. I don't mind Korma and Butter chicken curries either but much prefer a hotter curry. I'm not a great fan of Tikki Masala but will eat it. I recently tried the Iceland Peri Peri curry and it was ok but probably wouldn't get it again.
Loved a Chicken Naga, my asthma is not so much of a fan of spice these days so anything with taste but not too spicy or I can't breathe I don't like Korma or anything heavily coconutty though.
Madras or Rogan josh are nice, prefer with Chicken, I don't eat lamb.
Garlic and cheese naan though
TheChimp it is suppose to be but I never found it as intense as a Vindaloo from a takeaway/restaurant. I have had people look at me though and say are you sure you want it? You know it's hot? And then they've stood there to see my reaction. I guess I am a petite, very pale human, but still Hence why I no longer eat out in Indian restaurants, it's happened on multiple occasions. Actually we were being hovered around when we recently went to a place called
Osaka's too... maybe I just should never eat out, puts me on edge
Prawn or lamb korma (love the taste of the coconut although oddly I don’t like bounty chocolate bars) with a keema naan or curried cauliflower . If I make one at home it will be chicken with rice or chips/wedges - always with mango chutney on the side.
I know I'm the odd one out, but I never eat any curry. I don't like anything that's hot, or spicy.
Wow yummy topic Mr Chimp nice to see new topic from your self hope all fine my Harvey hope he’s fine as your know different Curry dishes have been cooked in our home on daily basis todays menu is Red kidney beans and rice I just cooked only 2 people going to have these because hubby gone abroad for a month here’s pic from dining table just for you
Lamb or Chicken Phall for me, hotter the better with Garlic Naan, extra garlic. Garlic fried rice, extra garlic. Chips, all the chutneys, poppadom & onion bhaji. Sorted.
This might be weird but when we have an Indian takeaway I don’t actually have a curry. I go for a keema naan and chicken tikka pieces
I used to have chicken or prawn but tbh I am so wary of all takeaway food these days and of getting ill after eating so I steer away from meat, seafood dishes. I now have mushroom curry with fried rice but very seldom. Once every other month maybe.
I do like a Korma or a masala, love somosas for a starter also and a pashwari naan and mushroom rice
It has to be a chicken tikka for me with plain rice. I do love a poppadum as a starter, can’t get enough of the mango chutney and onions.
Biryani or Madras for me.Any rice and some naan and pickles.A cold indian beer never goes amiss either.
I love spicy food so I enjoy a good vindaloo as well as a phall. Usually with rice and sometimes naan bread.
