Lots of so called lifetime warranties aren't really lifetime. The terms and conditions show the full terms. For example many bicycles have lifetime warranties on their frames but that is against manufacturing defects i.e. poor welds. If the frame fails after general use for lets say 5 years and the welds are still fine but the tubes have failed then you get nothing basically. Other guarantees are called lifetime but are 25 years or less. If you can buy a TV or washing machine etc with a 5 year parts and labour warranty I think you are doing well. Average lifespan is about 70-80 years and don't there are many warranties that actually last that long so really the phrase lifetime warranty should be banned.

Any company advertising a lifetime guarantee may possibly go out of business during the guarantee. I would need this well explained before I buy as it could be a 20 year old or 65 year old buying the product so is there a clause covering this?

Life time quarentees are nonsense, if you read most of the terms and conditions , there is always a clause

This is a huge case of 'buyer beware' in legal terms. Lifetime guarantees are so flimsy. The company may not trade for long or there are often get out clauses. Be extremely careful when buying items hoping for a lifetime guarantee as this is often a red light to fool the consumer that the product is worth more than it actually is.

It’s not a lifetime guarantee but 50 years on a kitchen sink. Franke - That's why we're proud to offer a 50 year guarantee against manufacturing defects on our sinks and varying levels of guarantee against manufacturing defects for our other products. Found this out when shopping to replace ours and the salesman suggested to contact them.

I'd like to see a product with lifetime guarantee.

In 2018, I bought a Lifetime Subscription to Windscribe VPN for $28 (£21.95) so I'll see in 2028 when it renews. I did ask the customer service and he told me it renews automatically.

Before anyone asks about it... No, it's not available anymore, but their yearly subscriptions are at very good prices with discounts.

Prestige always used to have a lifetime guarantee and I am sure this was the case when I bought some of their saucepans BUT unless you keep the literature showing this, how can you prove it as it doesn't show on their website anymore!!?

Is there any such thing as a Lifetime guarantee? In my experience anything over 12 months old and companies will make it as difficult as possible to claim on a guarantee and make every excuse possible to avoid doing anything They will claim you misused the item, did not maintain it properly, did not use it for the purpose intended etc etc.
