Diversity, Great Guys, Great Show
Other
Was lucky enough to see Diversity's Supernova last night at our local theatre. What a fantastic show, the atmosphere was electric, special effects out of this world, literally, hence the title.
I was privileged to meet Ashley, Jordan and Perri at a meet and greet after and they are such friendly, chatty guys. Lots of photos as you can imagine! What has been your favourite show?
Lynibis We saw them live in Cardiff on the BGT tour the year that they won, and my nephew and his family saw them at Butlins where his children were given some lessons in dance by them. We felt that seeing them through the TV screen doesn't do them justice. They are incredible live!
Lynibis I've been lucky enough to meet quite a few famous people as my brother in law was a top animator so we were invited to the premieres of Chicken Run as well as some parties. At my brother in laws funeral, the Funeral Directors were going around with his order of service collecting autographs afterwards. His favourite famous person of all the ones he met was Ricky Gervais.
Lynibis I love him too, and my bro used to say that he had a heart of gold and was quite childlike. If he knew my bro was visiting his office, he would watch out of the window for him, then run down the street to greet him. Seen him live a few times, and Afterlife had me crying with laughter and sobbing with emotion.
So hard to choose a favourite show, but Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King are definitely up there.
I also loved the new production of Sunset Boulevard when Nicole Scherzinger was leading lady - by far the best voice I've ever heard in my life - and the only time I have witnessed standing ovations during the performance, not just the end.
I have a soft spot for lots of other shows. Carmen Jones, My Fair Lady, Evita, Oliver, Westside Story and the latest production of Jesus Christ Superstar which is currently touring the country.
Tomorrow evening, I'm going to see Everybody's Talking About Jamie, and on Thursday I'm attending The Welsh National Opera's performance of 'Opera Favourites'.
AlysonC I agree with your top two picks and guess I must try to see Lion King as everyone who has seen it tells me how good it is. I agree about Nicole's voice and have often listened to her singing from Phantom. I saw Oliver in the West end as a teen as my cousin was in it as Nancy's young protege.
Wow you certainly get around, I thought I did well doing my reviews once a month or so!
I actually saw diversity a few years back, they were at a local party in the park show. They were really good, at the same show were Chas and Dave, brilliant.
eyeballkerry I used to love Chas and Dave when I was in my 20/30s. I remember one of my sons scratched my much younger brother's L.P. of theirs and there was all hell to pay!
There were fantastic. My daughter took me to Boywithyuke. She is a fan but I had never listened to anything of his so it was all new to me. Great night out. I did the same with same with mama Mia, didn’t watch the film but saw it at the theatre first.
We went to see Everybody's Talking about Jamie last night. I enjoyed it, but it's not one that I would hurry to see again. Apart from the title song, I felt that the songs, although well sung, were instantly forgettable. The lead actor was extremely good, and Kevin Clifton had an amazing voice. Sadly, my granddaughter wasn't feeling well half way through, so she didn't do her usual visit to the stage door to get her program autographed, but wanted to get home to bed.
