Does Your Dog Sleep on the Bed?
Ask a Question
Do you let your pooch sleep on your bed ?
We used to but decided 3 in a bed is only to be used in darts
we always used to until the last one and when he arrived we decided to keep him off the settee and bed.... we both missed the comfy cuddles as it meant us sitting on the floor...but we slept much better and it was definitely a cleaner system ...long haired dogs and muddy fields are pretty impossible to separate!
I would let them in bed I used to sleep with my German shepherd growing up. Only cats I have now and they love the bed
I definitely wouldn't allow cats or dogs on the beds, in fact people with asthma shouldn't let their pets in the bedroom because when you are asleep you'll be breathing in the pets dander which will get into your lungs and trigger their allergies.
I have asthma. But im not allergic to cats or dogs. My cat sleeps on my bed and I don't have any issues. The dogs don't though.
jamiepownall What symptoms do you have with your asthma, as some people aren't so lucky, for some it's a minor nuisance. For others, it can be a major problem that interferes with daily activities and may lead to a life-threatening asthma attack.
pato well I have the typical symptoms of an asthmatic? I guess I am fortunate enough that my asthma is not triggered by animals at all. Maybe because I've always been around them. As I said I have no allergy to cats and dogs so it won't trigger my asthma.
In our house the 2 "kids" sleep downstairs in their own beds. We do let them up stairs occasionally to lie at the end of the bed on their own blanket. My better half and I are not small and throw 2 dogs into the mix I am certain that we would not have a good night's rest.
My dog gets the roam of the house when we are at home, he sleeps under our bed at night but does sleep on it at times during the day or if me or my partner are up. He’s just another child in the house that gets what he wants
My dads got a dog and shes sleeps with him upstairs in his bed. Its a kingsize and she a very small dog and is bathed regularly so u dont even know shes in the bed with you.
I do not have a dog. But if I did it would be bathed on a regular basis so I would most likely let it on my bed. Animals are cleaner than some humans.
That's easier said than done when you're under five feet tall and trying to lift a very soggy and struggling 23 kg collie to transport from the shower back outside .... we resorted to using the outside tap but that was too cold in the winter so he got away with an undercarriage spray and wash down. Even so, half of the field and sandy, muddy track seemed to still sneak in via his tail feathers and other bits! I miss him so much but don't clean anywhere near as often. (I'd rather still have the cleaning AND the soggy doggy tho!)
BORDERJOE Yes, the love we have for our pets by far outweighs any slight negatives. I am sorry about your dog.
Nope, i‘ve had my dogs on the bed twice in almost 6 years of having them. Once when we were visiting relatives and they wouldn’t settle and once when my older dog wasn’t well and I wanted to be close to her.
Erm defo yes lol have 1 pup 2 cats there house as much as mine have rules of course however they live here should be allowed were they want not keen wid the cats on kitchen sides so just pull the door to but tinktailous does sometimes pup holds her up though
When we come in form walk she always gets toweled off she will only get 2 outdoor johnsons baby shampoo hoseings a year baby shampoo the best thing to use i ve found
Thanks M, I think i will give our little nina a try using the baby shampoo, i never thought of using it before, dog shampoo is so expensive as it needs to be non allergic, and i imagine baby shampoo is tested to even stricter levels
TerenceMealing ow your most welcome happy to have saved you a few quid if you think about it nothing more senstive than baby shampoo its summit my dad tought me from being handler all police dogs done in it plus it smells well erm lush
is it just me... or how do you have any sort of adult relations with a dog on the bed.... one of the reasons mine never have slept on the bed!
SarahBenne67061 the dog stops after about 60 seconds. Them whining at the door is preferable to them being on the bed at the time, now that is a mood killer
When we first got her we didn't allow her on the bed, she had to sleep downstairs in her own bed. After about 4 nights of whining, my husband caved and brought her up to bed and she has slept there every since.
Fancy accidently kissing your your dog in the morning thinking it as you wife or girlfriend.
I don’t have a dog, but I wouldn’t have a problem with it. My cats don’t though, but that’s their choice
We have a 10 stone dogue de bordeaux, shes a huge softie and her and my 11 year old autistic daughter are inseparable! They share a double bed (dog has most of it) she lays on my daughter and calms her so we all get a little bit more sleep ❤
I’ve always let my dog sleep in mine. She’s no longer with me.
She loved Staying in the bed. But she took the bed up lol. And moved a lot. Ha miss the cow bag
