What Have You Done to Lessen Your Impact on the Environment?
Other
I saw this question asked and thought about it and I can't really think of much I've changed. I do walk quite a lot and will be cycling when the weather is nicer but really I was doing this before the environment became such an issue. I guess I eat less meat than I used to but I can't really think of much else. I think I've always had a low impact on the environment generally except I do enjoy my food a bit too much so could certainly eat less. Anyone had any inspiring changes in their lifestyle to benefit the environment?
Only energy conservation B, ie using the air fryer to do more cooking than using the oven, unplugging electrical items when not in use etc , obviously thats to cut down the bills but could be classed as being environmentally friendly too
I'm trying to buy less. What I'm buying is better as in I try and get as much plastic free. I recycle as much as I can. I try not to use my car as much
Just making an effort to turn off lights and switches, both at home and at work. Picking up rubbish when out and about.
I seldom wash or change clothes lol and when I do I usually do an eco 30 degree wash.Call me stinky.Seriously though I don't shower and/or wash my hair everyday.I shop local.Don't have central heating.Grow my own veggies and seldom if ever get on aeroplanes. All my light bulbs are eco.I buy most things in charity shops and at bootsales and use freecycle and freegle all the time.I always pass on things I dont want or need.More besides .I'm a hippy of the first order.
Just saving energy really, I don't eat many heinz beans anymore, so less methane in the atmosphere lol
Most of the things I do that are environmentally friendly are done because it saves us money. Minimise food waste, wash laundry at colder temp on shortest cycle, buy 2nd hand items, mend things rather than replace, use less water and energy, walk when I can, use the airfryer instead of oven, recycle, energy efficient light bulbs and appliances, use certain reusable items. I will happily do things to benefit the environment as long as it is affordable to me.
The government/council does not make it easy. I recycle to the full amount of my capability, I only use my car about once a week, a small Citreon C1 for big shop or visiting my sons. When I go to the local dump it is always a nightmare. Trying to climb those metal stairs carrying a heavy load while the workforce just stands around is dangerous. I have tripped many times and now dread going.
I recycle all the stuff we're allowed to for collection but I often wonder how it saves the environment when I am using water and cleaning products before putting in the sacks.
