Good thread...
Left over single/double cream - freeze in ice cube trays. When needed add in meal recipes. I add them when I make curries. Eg palak paneer, meat curries, lentil curries! Voila!!
I also grow plants from left over scraps... eg lettuce, spring onion, garlic, normal onions - these go straight in a jar of water. (Have got Tom into this as well) lol.
I'll be soon planting potatoes, harbenero chillies, coriander, fenugreek seeds are potted so far. I had a cute pineapple too but it wasn't sweet when I ate it!!
On the subject of plants, I rescue disposable shower caps from hotel bathrooms, and re-use them to create mini greenhouses for potted seeds and seedlings.
Seeds do not require light to sprout, just warmth and the right amount of moisture. I start the seeds off in a warm location with plastic shower caps in place, and use a rubber band around the pot rim if not tight enough. I keep the cover in place until the seedlings grow into strong healthy plants. Then I go on holiday and rescue some more!
i never knew you could freeze cream and is that all you do nemosays pop them in water do that actually grow that again or is it just the plant ?
Johnny shower caps are great for covering the bowl when dough is proving if you make bread.
From past orders I keep the shipping jiffybags, packs, boxes and bubblewrap so no need to buy any of it.
The tape's running out though.
Yes I do this for my customer orders.. saves so much money! Cardboard boxes do cost a lot! Just need some personalised tape now!

I recently wallpapered a couple of walls in my house and used the leftover wallpaper that I had from the project to cover some old cardboard boxes to make storage boxes that matched the wallpaper in the room.
