Drivers That Dont Indicate
Other
Drives me mad when other people on the road just don’t bother to indicate- specially at roundabouts. You sit and wait patiently only for a driver on the roundabout to pull off into the exit before the one you are trying to pull out of - so you could have pulled out. I’m a calm driver- sitting in traffic doesn’t make me stroppy- ive been driving over 25 years and never even had so much as a speeding fine. But these people that don’t indicate make me want to actually get angry !!
Does this irritate everyone or is it just a pet peeve of mine ?
Waiting patiently isn't something I do anymore, if I see an open, I'll go for it because I don't want to stay there waiting. And other drivers don't like waiting too much either.
I have seen other drivers do actions that are outright prohibited (can only go forward/left/right and they don't care), but their luck is that police wasn't nearby to go after them. I do have a dashcam, but that's to film me and others around me.
I bought this one and it's great: a.aliexpress.com/_mLXjFgo
If you buy a dashcam, go with a package that includes front and rear. The installation of the rear camera is pretty simple and takes only 3-5mins. Of course, you'll need an SD card though it's likely you might have a spare so no need to buy another one.
Moreover, the "2 camera" package is the front camera + camera directed at the driver.
PhilipMarc my kids bought me a dash cam set - the front and rear - but I waited until I got my new motability car which i got a week ago today. Just need to bribe the older grandkids to install it now. there are some idiots on the road. By one of the schools that some of my grandkids go to the speed limit is 20mph - but some people drive down that road like its a racetrack!
Can a driver be convicted if you send proof of an illegal move to the police ?
suevernon1968 It's worth a try and since it comes down to money, there's a chance they'll do it.
Today I was on a roundabout and a driver tried to drive through... Do drivers not know they have to give priority?
If I had an accident because of her the video evidence would show she caused it.
Moreover, my brother-in-law bought a driver's license which he purchased in the U.K. and then was sent to Portugal (this sounded sketchy as hell as it is), where he resides and it looks genuinely real, but it should be revoked from him having it. Not to mention after a certain amount of time it's required to exchange from a U.K. driver's license to a PT driver's license.
Just looked it up, it's up to two years and he's been way over the limit as it is.

It admittedly annoys me a tad because I did everything legally and then there's guys like this that pay someone to get the license.
End of rant.
PhilipMarc thats not a rant - you have every right to be angry. When people like us do everything legally and people like him use money to get what they want!
suevernon1968 I don't like being a "snitch," but that really does bother me. I'll look into it if reporting can get his fake license revoked.
Furthermore, I like funding stuff left on the road as trash and taking it as it can be useful for me.
suevernon1968 Just some more info about his driver's license: He told us an Indian guy would send it and that was more or less it.
I'm pretty sure DVLA doesn't do that.
I hardly ever drive, my husband is my chauffeur! I think I would lose my rag with the way people drive these days, no thought for anyone else.
I don't drive myself but standing there waiting to see where the car it gonna turn drives me mad they never indicated
Pet hate when you are sitting at a roundabout and they don’t indicate! Or start to slow for junctions with no indicator so you have no clue of their intentions. Or people who can’t use a roundabout and use the same lane no matter which direction they plan to go
People who don't indicate come a close second to people who don't thank you when you let them out/let them pass.
Both instances should result in a 5 year driving ban IMO
I see it all the time and seems common for boy racers and people in German cars typically. I was crossing a road by foot in my town centre and had the right of way as already on the road. There was a Mercedes going around the roundabout and not indicating to go into my lane but of course before I knew it he was in my lane heading straight towards me and passed me only inches away from me. This person should never ever be allowed to drive. Grossly incompetent not just because of the lack of indication but not giving way to crossing pedestrians.
If the government needs a new income stream then surely giving out fines and points to those that don't indicate is a great option. I'm not saying I indicate all the time I'm sure occasionally I forget but generally I'm indicating 99% of the time I should be.
I agree sadly some that indicate do it too early so you not sure where they intend to turn.
My biggest driver rant is going wrong way round a one way car park and going out entrance
The thing I hate most is when they put there indicator on AFTER the manoeuvre. Clue is in the name- indicator!!
Yes - especially when you're waiting to cross a road as a pedestrian, think you're clear to walk (checked for indicating cars for long enough) then a car you notice didn't indicate pops up very closely to you! It's intimidating and definitely a pet peeve
It was drummed into me so much about indicating when i was learning to drive that i sometimes find myself indicating when going up the ramp in a multi story car park and there is no other way you can go !
I agree it is frustrating because with such little effort it can help the traffic to flow so much better. I think the standard of driving has got worse in the last few years
It drives me mad too I mean I am not a mind reader you know. Tailgating does my head In too. There Is someone always up your rear these days and I mean real close too. I hate driving.
Emerge11 if anyone is trying to get a lift into my boot I put my rear screen washers on. It tends to make them back off a bit !
Emerge11 My partner is a driver,I don't drive, tried but too many eeeeeejits on the road for my liking. My partner HATES driving round Sheffield & other heavily built up areas, says when he's 70 he will retire from driving. If my partner has someone tailgating trying to overtake him,he just SLOWS down & makes that person wait!
You want to drive where j am. You take your live in your own hands everytime you get behind the wheel. It's really scary. The stunts others pull. They wouldn't drive like that else where. We've little lanes and have people in Chelsea tractors who can't reverse try make other reverse onto main roads or refuse to pull into field entrances because they don't want to get their car dirty.
I don't drive but as a pedestrian I do like to know when someone is coming around the corner. Also wish drivers wouldn't drive at dangerous speeds on public roads. We can't all hot up the pace to avoid speeding cars!
It annoys me so much. Whenever it happens I always say "they clearly don't put indicators on *insert name of car*". Sometimes it is so dangerous. I've seen a few near misses.
I no longer drive yet l always use to indicate, l also find it frustrating when I'm trying to cross a road and a car thinks it has the right to beep me as it wanted to turn and didn't use its indicators...
