Easyjet Wants to Limit Airport Drinks to Just 2

Other

Do you agree? On jeremy vine they are talking about it and apparently Ibiza flights are the worse. One caller was saying they live in Ibiza and when they fly to the UK they won't take the direct flights but go via mainland Spain because of behaviour. She was saying thise on the flight were abusive, drunk and having sex on the plane

I don't understand why they would allow alcohol in the first place to be honest always thought it was a bad idea

On the other side (itv) they were intimating that some passengers openly snort cocaine as well as drink. Someone was prattling on about the nanny state but if the minority can't control their bad behaviour why should the majority have to suffer, especially if children are witnessing it.

Lynibis yes jeremy vine said that as well. I agree it's the minority that ruin it for everyone and it puts the decent lot off flying. Also makes me understand why these islands don't want brits it's embarrassing to be associated with them

Not against people having a few drinks when going on holiday, but in some cases it's taken to extreme. Nobody wants to be on a plane with a load inebriated passengers, and the poor crew that has to deal with them . Not sure how they could police a two drink limit thou, simple fact is Airports make money selling alcohol and will continue to do so.

Surely they can wait for a drink till they get there. It must be a nightmare working on those planes

The problem is that people drink in the in the airport bars and have had enough before they get on the plane.Restricting drinks on the plane will not really help. What about don’t drink and fly! I do think some people drink because they are afraid of flying.

Call me a cynic, but I think the only reason Easyjet, Ryanair et al want to limit the amount passengers drink pre flight is so they can flog them more overpriced booze once they are onboard.

The idea that the likes of Michael O'Leary (CEO of Ryanair) care about their staff above profit is fanciful at best.

I have said this previously, they should breathalyse those that look worse for wear and if they fail the test chuck them off , even make it compulsory for a certain age group

What could be worse than a fracas on a plane when in the air , the idiots are endangering the life of other passengers and the crew

Surely Customs would know If a passenger Is sober, Intoxicated or fit to fly. That`s the second place after the check In.

Being a non drinker most of the time due to medication I have never understood why people have to have a drink before departing especially in the early hours. I can understand if free drink is offered as part of your flight. Why would you want to feel drunk on a plane? If anything happens on the plane your going to be no use to anyone. That’s why you can’t take sleeping tablets on a plane.

Two is a moderate amount and food/drinks aren't cheap on these flights, anyway.

When people get too drunk they lose sense of reality and somewhat overpowered due to the adrenaline.
