Eating & Running
In the News
Ann & Bernard McDonagh have been jailed for eating at five Restaurants then running off without paying the bill, Ann also got done.for shoplifting & obstructing a Police Officer..
In Sheffield only last week on some FB post we had a man doing exactly the same thing with his young son & he was named & shamed on Social Media..
It's people like these that cause businesses to go under, it's absolutely disgusting behaviour..
And just one example of the 'bad behaviour' that is rife in society today. The latest drive by shooting has seriously injured yet another child, alongside 3 adults. My own theory is lack of discipline and bad parenting but I feel at a loss as to how we can combat the evil within some human hearts.
I feel the idea of national service to be a good one for these thugs and criminals, but as a separate institution not part of our armed services, and not to include those who intend to study at university or take up a job or apprenticeship. In other words only scum who will hopefully benefit from being disciplined by harder men than them. But of course the pc/woke brigade would be apoplectic at the mere thought of this, they would sooner innocents were victims.
Lynibis we've always had this and yes bad parenting often is why people don't know how to behave. They have either been taught to take, take, take. Not had boundaries or been brought up to expect they can do what they like because it's cute to be naughty, or whatever reason. This is nothing new it's often a cycle that needs breaking. I see it a lot at work. Parents blame their kids behaviour on everything but their parenting. It's more obvious because of social media and we see it more. It's not worse then how it was it's just more in the open
This has always happened it appears worse because of social media and we are way more aware of it. Hlad they were caught and locked up. It's wrong as businesses go under cos of people like this. It's one good thing about media and technology we can name and shame easier
I agree with the bad parenting scenario , but it goes back further than the parents , possibly to the grandparents
As the generations advance the blame goes further back , add to this social media influences and you have the perfect storm
We now live in a couldn't care less society and this extends to authorities and even governments , so what hope has the man , or woman, to be 'politically' correct , in the street got
Its not just scum people running from restaurants , its happening in supermarkets , petrol stations and retail stores , theft for some is part of their daily life , some out of necessity , but most out of pure greed , those who want something for nothing
Its got to such an extent that there are not enough police or security guards to cover it all , and they still class this type of crime as low level , so the people who suffer are the rest of us in increased prices to make up for the loss in theft
I would like to see them try this in any of the restaurants in London's China Town. It could get pretty messy but it sure would be a great big piece of KARMA coming their way. It's amazing how annoyed the Chinese get about this sort of thing and they make excellent Chop Suey lol
EmmaWright762 Yes , they would definitely get the chop not paying for their chops E
This happened in my daughters pub. A group of four men ordered the expensive food on the menu. They said to the barmaid they had an emergency call outside and never came back. My daughter watched it back on her cameras and they were wearing shirts with a phone number on. She rang it and told them they forgot to pay. They said they would come back but never did.
Lynibis As far as I know she didn’t contact the police. But looking back probably would have been a good idea, they could have been doing elsewhere as well.
This is why it is better to pay up front at point of order rather than after service of a meal. Restaurants should do this and then it wouldn’t be an issue.
jam45 The only difference is paying before instead of afterwards so would make no difference to the staffing. No one would be branding you individually dishonest if it was blanket policy for everyone. If you are offended and don’t like it you don’t have to return. How would you stop people eating your profits and not paying for it then? Westherspoons and Hungry Horse manage it so others could too.
I've seen this kind of thing happen, we were in a restaurant and 3 lads bolted from the restaurant without paying
