Embarrassing Moments?

Ask a Question

I’m sure some of us must have had some embarrassing 🙈 moments in our lives! 😅

Want to share some stories with us so we can have a laugh! 😬

Once I was going up some stairs and I kind of missed a step and nearly tripped!! Lmao 😜 luckily there was no one around!! 😙

I have always been shy around men but once at work some friends said (in front of me and a male work colleague) 'there you go Lyn you and Mr x should go out on a date'. My face turned red, my heart started thumping and I couldn't get my words out so instead of saying 'why would he want to go out with me' I foolishly said 'why would I want to go out with him'!

He never spoke to me again and I relived that embarrassment every time I saw him!😵

I was in the gym and school and fell off the treadmill, smacking my chin and causing a massive bruise. It was there for about 2 months. It was of course in front of all the class. That is probably the one that sticks most in my mind.

kitty88uk it sucks doesn't it! Nothing covered this bruise so I just had to go with it. Luckily no one made fun of me, which is surprising really.

I went to a fashion show and during the first break I nipped to the loo. It wasn’t until I was nearly back to my seat that a lady grabbed me and pulled my dress down a little. I had my dress caught in my knickers😂

I knew a guy who went to work once on a Saturday and wondered why there was no one else in that day as we didn't work weekends 🙃 😑 😐

Where do I begin... 😳

- When I was younger I was on a flight with my immediate family and I think I was running down the aisle to the toilet and just as I got to the galley they were bringing out a hot pot of tea/coffee ... 🤕 ... whacked my temple on the side of the pot, and got a nice scar there at the time from the burn, but thankfully none of the drink spilled❗ 🎁 Bonus was, since this was pre-9/11, I got to visit the flight deck mid-flight!

- Also when I was younger, I was at some community centre 'thing' which had I think ducks and/or geese and a little pond for them (no fence around it). Whilst my parents were inside the centre I was out the back doing something or other. I ended up somehow slipping or falling head first into said pond (thankfully it wasn't too deep / didn't have too much water in it at the time(‼️)), managed to haul myself up and out of the pond and I seem to recall ended up standing out the front door of the centre either waiting for my parents to make an appearance, or asking someone to find them for me. I think most of my head and the top half of my t-shirt was absolutely filthy!

- I suppose for one more story from more recent (adult) years; I had a backpack on and back then used to pack it with a lot of things, including probably my DSLR camera. Made for quite a heavy bag. I was leaning forward at the time to do something, ended up overbalancing, and ended up on the Victorian tiled floor in front of me. I wear glasses 🥸 and had somehow ended up catching my glasses on the floor, the frame caught one of my eyebrows, and it turns out that that area of the face/skin is quite fragile ... bl🩸🩸d all over the floor! Luckily someone was with me at the time; they dialled 999 for an ambulance, which arrived fairly quickly, and I was taken to a walk-in centre at a hospital to be treated. I seem to recall that one of the medical things they did was apply some medical super glue inside the wound - perhaps as a small positive outcome of this particular incident I can brag about having medical superglue inside me (I don't know if it dissipates naturally or not). Can still just about see the scars to this day on my eyebrow.

I think that that'll do.

A while ago in the office at work, it was pouring down and we ended up having a leak from the roof so someonee popped the metal waste paper bin under to catch the water, on my way back from the photo copier yep you've guessed I fell over it and landed in a heap on the floor with the bin squashed under me, hurt my pride more than anything.

Whilst getting out of my car - in a busy town centre I managed to put one crutch on the path and the other on the road - threw me off balance so i went face first down with an audience!

Managed to get one crutch stuck in a drain whilst getting out of the the car - i couldn’t get it to come out- i asked a couple of people for help and they just looked the other way- so i thought well i give up. Got back in the car - reversed a bit with the door open then just pulled away and left my crutch alone standing upright as it was leaning on the kerb a bit. I did phone the local police station when I got home so they could remove it so it wasn’t left as an obstacle.

One of my beliefs as a child which still makes me laugh - when someone said a table or whatever was ‘walnut’ I used to think wow they are clever making anything out of the ‘wooden’ around the outside of a walnut 🤣 didnt even occur to me that they grew on a tree.
