Are There Enough Dog Friendly Places?
Ask a Question
Are there enough dog friendly places to go?
Would you be happy to go to a cafe, restaurant or similar that allowed dogs?
There’s 2 or 3 cafes near me where you’d think the dogs are the customers not the owners there are so many. It’s because there is a beach walk and a country park walk where everyone walks dogs. I do go to the cafes and I have no problem with them as long as they are on lead and owners are in control of them. As long as there is somewhere I can sit without one. I don’t own a dog.
I think a lot of places are dog friendly which is generally a good thing. I do get annoyed by the owners who allow their dogs to jump up people etc though.
I would definitely say yes, most place we've been too especially on the coast, cafés ect.., where all dog friendly
There are a lot more places in the countryside which is great, but I feel like hotels etc could be a little more dog friendly. I would even pay a little more for it.
I took my granddaughter to the coast end of last summer for couple days and we found dog friendly cafe. It became our excuse for lunch and dinner and even snacks during the day. There were so many different dogs, tiny 1s held in owners laps to big Bernese dogs. The dogs were all so well trained and friendly. We absolutely loved it and wished there was 1 in r local town we could r miniature schnauzer too. Unfortunately there isn’t but I think they’re great idea
I'm a massive dog lover, but I don't think dogs should be allowed in restaurants. Who wants dog hair in their food.
There are quite a lot of dog friendly places. It's also worth checking online to see if there are any dog related events happening in your area, such as specific dog breed meet ups.

Starbucks and Costa have a 'secret' menu for dogs - you can order a puppuccino
Puppuccinos tend to be free and served in espresso-size cups, but are usually ‘secret’ or off-menu. At Costa and Starbucks in the UK you can’t order them on the brands’ apps, and they won’t appear on the menu, but if you ask when ordering your coffee in person, the baristas should be able to provide your pup with a puppuccino gratis. - www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/how-order-puppuccino-costa-starbucks-21494494
We went on holiday to Bangor, Northern Ireland and stayed in a dog friendly hotel. The dogs had their own beds in the room, there were water and food bowls for them too, separate blankets for them. They had their own section in the restaurant and they got water and treats when we went for food. You wouldn't know dogs were there as the place was spotless and everyone kept their dogs under control. Our dog absolutely loved it, as did we.
We went to Perth for a long weekend with our son and dog recently. We stayed in a Holiday Inn and had to pay a dog fee for her to be in the room. They were great about her being there.
