Is Everyone Loving the Heat or Struggling
Ask a Question
Just wondering if anyone is struggling with this heat wave and what tips they have to keep cool . I am sleeping with the windows open at the moment but some people can’t do that. Would really like to be a cooler though .
I love the heat except when working in it. Obviously not the most intense part of the day, I’ll try to keep to the shade then. It’s lovely when it’s light and warm in the evening outside. As for being inside keep curtains drawn as they stop the heat getting through. Open windows when possible. I make ice cubes and put in a bowl in front of a fan. Sleeping at night a trick from my late grandmother is to damp wet a flannel in cold water and just wipe lightly over yourself then put a fan on for a while. It really cools me down. I’ve read about pillow cases in freezer but I’ve never done that. I would put it in some sort of wrapper first, not just straight in.
This is what a lot of people have been asking for and now some are moaning it’s too hot. I pretty easy with the weather and take each day as it comes.
eyeballkerry I never asked for it, dreaded it's coming and hate it, have done since childhood. I am constantly tired, can't go outside, curtains closed all day and can't sleep at night. I can't cope above 24°
I don't mind the heat too much but hate working in it as my workplace gets so hot and it can be unbearable. I can't sleep when it is too hot, even with the fan on.
Honestly wouldn't mind if it was hot in the day and cold at night can't sleep in this heat
I’m loving it, people always moan about the weather.. in spring/ summer I love it when it’s hot. I get to soak it up get vitamin D . You just need a fan on you at night or a cool house. Should cheer everyone up when the suns out but you always get people who still moan..
I want to know why we in Glasgow haven't had the sun we were promised. We've just had muggy heat, and since I work in a care home that's 2 times muggy heat, and its disgusting. Can feel the heat the second you walk in the front door, and that's with all the heating turned off
I’ve been off work so been enjoying it to a point but it’s too hot to do too much really. It is a welcome change from the rain though
Love the warmth at last, hope it continues. I don’t sit in the sun but love the high temperature.
I love the heat but it's well to hot in work always get more people turn up at accident and emergency department needing treatment from haveing too much sun or too much booze and sun
Love the sun being out but where I work it's horrendous in the summer. Full of glass and no air conditioning. Thank you to the architect that designed it. Same as one of the other schools where I am. New build all glass. Architect didn't think it would need air conditioning even more so as you can't open the windows.
Jerseydrew oh I bet that’s awful . By the time the school breaks off the weather would have changed.
Too hot got to 27 degrees here in Leeds! During the day it’s fine and I use spf face cream and got a nice fruity spf body lotion sample used on arms lol
But when it comes to night it’s too humid and on Monday couldn’t sleep well at all! woke up about an hour later one side of tshirt was damp from sweat lol
Last night was okay but kept drinking so much water to stay hydrated
Well drank more cups of it and herbal tea during the day, I find that if I don’t stay hydrated I get headaches
