Should They Extend Sunday Trading Hours?
Other
from the perspective of a shopper, I'd love to have more time on a Sunday to shop and browse. But I imagine from the perspective of a worker, this is not a welcoming idea
I doubt most shop workers would object to longer hours on a Sunday - when they've had to turn in for a maximum of six opening hours, a few hours extra wouldn't be a major problem. I don't think it will be too many years before Sunday is treated like every other day of the week.
Even vicars work on Sundays
lol yes, indeed they do - it's probably the busiest for them as well. I don't know many people that visit the church on Sundays anymore though
I work Sundays so I don't see why and I often find myself having to rush to get my shopping when I realise it's Sunday
Well it won't be a popular opinion but I would love to go back to a time of Sunday closure when shops did not open on Sundays. It would be wonderful for family life and instead of dragging kids round the shops families could do leisure activities instead, that all can enjoy. No matter what hours you personally work so many shops are open from 6 to 10 and even for 24 hours a day except Sunday. Plus you can shop online and have it delivered at your convenience. Of course we will never reverse things now but if I had a magic wand........................
I agree, I think shops should be shut on Sundays and I think it's great that The Entertainer toy shop is shut on Sundays.
I know that when we had the olympics, Sundays in town operated exactly like any other day of the week, and it was nice not to have to rush around. I wouldn't mind extending the hours
No need - they have families to get home to and spend time with. There's now the more flexible option to order online so not much of a difference anymore
