Father's Day & Mother's Day
Ask a Question
Did people go out for Father’s Day of is is that mainly the mums getting a day off cooking etc.. ( please don’t take any offence )
just wondered if people do / did something special ..
Big hands to all the mums doing both roles and vice versa etc
We didn’t go out but I made my partner a big beef roast dinner, however we did take him out for lunch yesterday. It’s only fair he gets spoilt also
My dad is on holiday. Normally him and mum would come over for dinner and he would get his present. We took them out the Sunday before for dinner and did presents then. Husband didn't want any fuss but our son made him 2 cards and got him a small gift.
Unfortunately I don’t see my dad very often, my parents divorced when I was under 5. I always send a card. Our youngest daughter, 23, gave my husband, her dad the most wonderful hand made card with beautiful words that made him cry.
We had a family bbq last weekend which was lovely and children trickled by yesterday which was nice, had a nice curry for dinner and fresh cream cakes.
Unfortunately, I could not spend Father's Day with him, but I was thinking about him. I know he is not suffering anymore, R.I.P
I never want any fuss for fathers day, so don't get any lol I do like to make a fuss of my wife on mother's day though
Didn't do much on fathers day, we never usually make a fuss. My dads happy with a card tbh. I got him a box of chocolates and a book along with a card. Didn't go overboard.
We don't celebrate Father's Day in our family but we do make our mothers special.I think that the history of Mother's Day goes back to the time girls who went into service at stately homes were allowed the Sunday of Mother's Day off so that they could take flowers to their own mothers. I think Father's Day came as a custom from the USA.
We do similar to mothers day. Go see the parentals. Give cards and present and spend time together. Don't go out as its over priced and near our birthdays
Normally i invite my dad for a me, but he never wants a fuss. My mum, on the other hand….let’s just say we’re celebrating another Mother’s Day
We always used to take our mum out on mother's day. Unfortunately she passed away on Christmas day 2021. But we always go to the cemetery on mother's day, plus every Wednesday and Sunday.
Our daughter spoilt me day after Mothers Day as I was in Manchester that weekend watching Peter Kay with my long time friend.
Daughter took me out for Afternoon Tea at Ego Mediterranean Restaurant & we had a Mocktail afterwards as daughter wasn't drinking so I didn't either... x
This weekend our daughter & her Da are going to watch Tennis Tournament in Birmingham while I'm on Annual Leave cat sitting in sunny Sheffield.
Our daughter is treating her Da to the picnic basket at the Tennis as his Father's Day treat, she did something similar when they went to a Tennis Tournament last year, the food was lovely & worth it they told me they really enjoyed it..
