What Is Your Favourite Comp Win?
Ask a Question
I never win any competitions (only thing I've won this year is some peanut butter ), so let me live vicariously through you and tell me your best competition prizes - big money? Something that led to a special memory? Item that you wouldn't be without now?
kate1310 I feel like giving up on the lottery as we tend to get lots of lucky dips, although my Mum won nearly Β£2000. A GP that I used to work with recommended that I buy Premium Bonds instead as at least you get your money back. I'm glad that I took her advice as I have won as much money as I have invested.
Over the last 5 years best wins have been Β£200 love2shop voucher, Β£250 handmade leather shoes and Β£500 Amazon voucher. I've spent the Amazon voucher, still got the shoes and I'm waiting for the love2shop.
lilyflower The shoes sound amazing, were they a style you would have chosen yourself?
sulawesi They were/are flat wedding shoes, I went with the least fancy option and thought my daughter might like them but no. I did try selling them as they're a bit over the top for every day wear but that was another no. So they sit in their box 'till I decide what to do next.
lilyflower They are pretty, but yes, I can imagine there's not many opportunities to wear them
sulawesi lilyflower I would definitely wear them if they are comfy. I don't think they are at all ott and would add pizzazz to any outfit.
Lynibis I'll have to think of or find a special occasion. I opted for flats rather than the heels that were on offer thinking they would be more use but they are very fine and cream suede. Perhaps they should be my holiday shoes
lilyflower I can't remember the last time I wore heels and then less than 2" so they would do me well but although I would wear them I am not one for ankle straps.
lilyflower they are absolutely gorgeous! I don't think that they are over the top for everyday wear. I would wear those to work. I think they would be perfect for holiday shoes.
The best prize I won was a stay in a fancy hotel (we got the top suite too!). It included afternoon tea when we arrived, a chocolate truffle making class, 3 course dinner, breakfast and then a picnic hamper to take home.
Best price I ever won was just over 34yrs ago. Itβs actually my daughterβs birthday today and bout 5/6 weeks before she was due I won a pram in the local supermarket. Iβd already had a pram paid off and left over in pram shop in town. They let me cancel the pram and use money in the shop for everything else I needed which was good job as she was born the next wk, 5wks early by emergency section and hubby had just been paid off and we were panicking how weβd afford stuff for her. Thanks to my win sheβd best of everything and hubby got new job 2wks later. That was like another comp win
I won some glass jars of honey I got 8 jars so I have 3 to the good bank and 4 to family and friends I was so happy it was lovely honey from hilltop honey everyone loved it
About twenty years ago l won a two week holiday in Australia courtesy of a glossy magazine, however was in Greece at the time so l had to forfeit the trip as when l entered l had to be available to travel at a said time.. thinking l would never win , though when l returned l had a parcel the size of a bed pillow waiting for me jammed to the rafters with allsorts of very expensive beauty products
Won a few comps. But best one was holiday to majorca. Great location not far from magaluf and palmanova!
richmorgan27rm it was quite full on peanut butter - smooth with caramel, pretzels and chocolate I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/competitions/win-suitcase-full-peanut-butter-instagram
Like a few other compers on here I've not exactly been on a strong winning streak recently..... But then about 3 weeks ago I received an email informing me I'd won a bicycle. Great I thought, I may use it to pootle around, or maybe stick it on eBay and hopefully make Β£100 or so. This morning this parcel arrived -
And after a little googling of the exact make and model I'd won I found it was this one -
So, I've just won a top spec bicycle worth a tad over five grand
blacklabrador Wow, that's quite a way to end a dry spell! Congrats - are you going to keep it yourself?
sulawesi I don't think I'll keep it, It's been a long old time since I rode a bike, and to start again on something like this would be like just passing your driving test and hopping into a Lamborghini.
blacklabrador that's a fab win! Congratulations. A bike over five grand...! What a result.
blacklabrador wow that is amazing. Congratulations on your win, that is a fantastic prize. I didn't know there were bikes that cost that much!
blacklabrador how lovely. Someone got a bargain of a bike and you get what sounds like an amazing holiday. Win win. Delighted for you
blacklabrador absolutely amazing! Never been to Iceland myself but a few friends have and they said it was fantastic. Not bad getting a free holiday out of a competition win.
I just won a Selfridges e.voucher worth Β£150. First voucher/ gift card I've ever won. Got myself a nice necklace with my initial on and colouring pencils. Also got birthday presents for nephew and my mum. So really happy about that. A while again I won Β£250 worth of Disney toys from the Disney Store. Didn't know I'd won so was really surprised when two big boxes arrived. I've won smaller prizes too like books.
My best win was a voucher for a holiday sponsored by Kit Kat.The holiday was for two people to go to Thailand.I wrote to the sponsers and said that I could not take up the prize because I had two young children. They kindly sent me vouchers to use on a holiday of my choice.I chose to go to Fuerteventura at Christmas which was an amazing experience.
Reading the responses here makes me want to give competitions a chance again.
The only thing I remember winning was a Sony PlayStation Portable around 2007-ish from FOX Kids (doesn't exist anymore). It was so awesome I couldn't believe I was sent it.
Then, a month later or so sold it to CeX for Β£90ish.
Hi, won a few competitions over the years and maybe the best moment was going on Talksport radio talking about my best world cup moment was...for that I got Β£500 in wickes vouchers which paid for our old and damaged fence!! You just never know what may turn up
