Which is Your Favourite Cuisine?
Ask a Question
Just a bit of fun but wondering what is your favourite type of cuisine? When my dad was here and him and my mum would go to the Chinese he would never order Chinese food and would have anything from Steak and Chips or an Omelette . Do u have a favourite type of meal?
My favourite food is British like a Sunday Roast and Fish and Chips but Chinese comes a close second and then Indian. I do love Chilli so I guess Mexican would be next. I do like pizza but its ham and pineapple as a favourite which I think the Italians call an abomination so I guess its American style pizza I like. For desserts one of my favourites is Apple Crumble which I think comes from Sweden and then its the classic English Apple pie which I think is the original Apple pie. I'd like to try the French style Apple pie where the pastry is at the bottom and the Apple is caramelised on top but have never actually tried it. Yes I like my desserts to have Apple in them.
I love Mexican, and we are lucky to have a really decent Mexican restaurant nearby.
Failing that Indian also does it for me.
Mediterranean is my favourite. Although I do love fish and chips. I think we're pretty lucky these days to have so much choice.
Pjran Love your answer. But to answer the question it has to be Indian for me if it’s a takeaway but at home it’s Mexican.
Fish and chips, roast dinner, steak pie , chips and garden peas, indian and chinese food , pizza, beans and cheese on toast, i could go on but i think fish ,chips and mushy peas clinches it
I like simple food, typical pub grub but none of the fancy meals that contain alcohol. I'm not a fan of floral or coconut either, so Thai is off the menu.
I mean I'd be happy with mash and broccoli
I do love a curry, but it has to have some spice and not full of chunks of vegetables.
Texture plays a bit part of if I enjoy something or not. I much prefer a smoother thick soup to ones that a watery one or those that contain chunks/bits.
I'm the same with drinks, can't have pulp in any juice. I'd rather eat a smoothy than drink it.
We don't have many takeaways in my area and those we do have tend to be the same sort of cuisine. Chip shop (Pie & chips, Sausage & chips or Fishcake) would be my first choice, for price and food. Then Indian would be my second choice. I don't mind pizza or Chinese but I have to be in the mood for it. I do love a Nando's though (Medium-Extra hot) I've been put off most chicken from other places; when I ordered a chicken burger from one of my favourite takeaways and it was inedible, like a sole and our other local chicken place tends to leave most people I know on the loo most of the night, so I don't think it is worth it
I'd love it if places would offer more vegetarian or vegan options that weren't just salad though. I don't eat much meat, but if there were really tasty options that didn't include meat then I'd be more inclined to order it, sadly that is usually down to texture again though.
Lebanese cuisine is my favourite, great variety of dishes.
My top picks are Shawarma, Fattoush, Kofta, Tabbouleh salad, Falafel , Baba ghanouj, Hummus, the flat breads and
then Baklawa for something sweet.
Never tried any these dishes apart from the hummus and flat breads would love to try them I love trying all new foods
kate1310 I can highly recommend them. Have a Google and see if you have any restaurants near by or you could Google recipes to try at home.
ILOVEFANTA That does sound interesting but sadly no Lebanese restaurants in my area.
BonzoBanana I've seen a few bits available in M&S like Tabbouleh salad, Falafel, Hummus, could be worth having a look if you have a M&S Food local.
ILOVEFANTA There is a small M&S Foodhall in the basement of my local M&S store and pass it fairly frequently so will have a look. Thanks. I've had Hummus a fair bit already.
Fish N Chips for me as nothing can beat that especially If you was brought up on that. Good old British Cuisine.
I love a decent Chinese but lately they have been very disappointing especially the crispy duck. We find we can do better at home and it doesn't cost on average £30!
I love Mexican but there isant one near me like a good Indian and fish and chips my partner use to always order steak in the Chinese restaurant and my sister an omelette I always said what's the point in getting that lol try the Chinese now we just go to Chinese buffet
As far as traditional “take away” food Chinese usually wins but definitely can’t beat a good steak and chips or Sunday roast
Italian, Chinese and Japanese are my favourites. For a takeaway it’s usually Chinese. For a meal out it’s usually Italian or Japanese.
I love trying different cuisines but firm favourites are Chinese, Thai, Greek, Italian, and Japanese.
I don't have a favourite cuisine. We eat lots of different dishes from different cuisines, but wouldn't say there was an overall favourite.
