Your Favourite Scary Film?
Ask a Question
As we get closer to Halloween, what are your favourite scary films to watch?
They aren't 'scary' but every year we like to watch Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Not a massive horror film fan but I always like the descent, lots of jump scares. Pretty simple premise but really well done and it's british.
jms19 I'm so bad with jump scares! Every single one gets me while my husband just laughs at me lol
You can't beat the first halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis, I never get bored of watching it, I can't say that I've ever been scared by any movie
martinlufc5637 I've never really gotten into the Scream or Halloween films, not sure why!
Most of the horror films are crap always the same thing I know seen loads of them but would have to say deliver us from evil
The original Saw - was so good and also sixth sense but after you have seen them for the first time, you know the plot twist / what happens so you can't really watch them again
emmabeckz I do love the sixth sense! I agree with your point, when it's one with a twist you can't really enjoy it the same way a second time.
I have watched many but for some reason Salems Lot was the only one that sent a shiver up my spine
Especially the scene with the vampire hovering outside the window
And of course the original Exorcist , which i saw at the cinema
I'm a fan of Hammer and Amicus horrors, so my favourite is the best British horror ever made: The Wicker Man
We've just watched Talk To Me and it was fabulous! Proper horror. Another good, weird one is The Ritual, and it's a Brit horror too.
Best horror movie is the original French version of Martyrs.
Failing that, Japanese or Korean horror is the best by far.
The innocents is really scary while being black and white movie sends a little chill if you don’t need gore
Pinkspirit Loved those movies. Certainly an original and surprised that they haven't made anymore.
I've always loved The Exorcist - it's so funny when her head is spinning and she spews out green bile :-)
Ive always had an affinity to the man in the hockey mask aka Jason Vorhees.
1 would always say avoid is the beyond terrible and I'm trying to sue the studio who made Nope as I lost 2 hours of my life and I came out the film more depressed than when I went in.
I don't really like horror, but the one that really freaked me out was 'The Blair Witch Project". Definitely a psychological one, not scary for all. Reminds me, I must watch it again!
There Isn't many scary films out there nowadays. I like The Conjuring & The Amityville Horror personally.
I don't know if it's my favourite film, but I found the Texas chainsaw massacre very funny.
Not a horror fan but quite enjoy cheesy old horror movies like 'The Most Dangerous Game' and some old Hammer movies.
A Nightmare On Elm Street box set (including No.5 "Dream Child" which was deleted). I love Freddy Krueger or Robert Englund the actor. They never show them these days, mind you, you'd probably laugh at them now. Hahaha
