Do You Feel Guilty Working When You Have Kids ?

Ask a Question

Laura Norton returns to Emmerdale after 18 months and works on 'guilty feelings' www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/laura-norton-says-shes-working-32217544

I know when I went back to work after having my children , I felt so guilty , but also really wonted to work and truth be told needed to work

Are you a stay at home parent ? Do you love being home or are you a parent who works and maybe feels guilty ? Or is happy to work

I stayed at home with my son till he went to nursery and then I returned to work. I don't feel guilty about working. I work whilst he is at nursery, I drop him off, go to work and then pick him up. I enjoy my job but enjoy being a mum too.

MrsCraig that’s the best unfortunately no family friendly hours in nursing so I did feel guilty but they’ve grown up well so not all bad xx

Aenurse1 I'm a teacher and luckily my school was fantastic about letting me only work till lunchtime.

Nursing definitely isn't family friendly hours. Will never forget the nurses that looked after our son after his operations. Superheroes every one of them

Best to work while you're kids are in school or college and then try and be with them when they not in school or college

Yes - if your job role / careeer is NOT in teaching, nursery, or similar where you can work around your children; or you have to travel during the work week and are not home in the evening.

Sadly I had no choice but to go back to work. I couldn’t afford to stay off any longer than the statutory maternity leave. But it was always either me or my (then) husband that was with them

I had to work otherwise would not have been able to buy and pay for what I did. My hours were when they were at school nursery etc, the only thing was the holidays from school. But they were looked after by family.

I was a stay at home for most of the time bringing up my four children. I tried every now and again to find a part time job but always got in the way of family life which was very important to me.
