What Foodstuffs Would You like to See on the Shelves?

Ask a Question

I am first to moan when food manufacturers keep reinventing food in order to keep us trying and buying. Things like new flavour, new recipe, larger/smaller version etc.

However there are a couple of things I would love to buy. I know walkers do crisps without salt with the blue sachet but they are so expensive these days, why don't supermarkets own brands include them as a choice as they are often half the price.

And there are never enough 'little balls' in muller corner yoghurts. I wish you could buy big tubes of them so you can add them to any yoghurts or desserts.

Is there anything you would like to see in food shops currently not availabe?

PS Why do they put the blue sachet of salt in crisps if you are choosing to buy unsalted?

I never liked the unsalted crisps, they had no flavour.

I've bought the lidl own version of muller yoghurts and found they had a good amount of the little balls etc in them.

I would love it if they made an own version of salt and vinegar flatbread crackers. Love the Ryvita ones but they are expensive.

MrsCraig never seen those Ryvita but I am pretty sure Scotland has stuff we don't and vice versa. I will try the Lidl yoghurts.

I absolutely hate the taste of salt and if I have salted crisps or peanuts I sit with a clean tea towel and wipe the salt off lol.

Lynibis I've only seen them recently so think they might be new. They were on offer with Trsco clubcard prices so I bought a bunch of them.

I don't tend to eat ready salted crisps, I ind them bland.

I haven't had the crisps with a pack of salt in them since I was a kid, we buy Aldi yogurts, they taste the same as muller

martinlufc5637 lots of little balls? That's the best part! Muller small corner with tapered shape and only half full. I reckon they'd make a killing if they sold them separately in tubes, like Smarties but bigger😋

I always used to buy Walkers Lite crisps they were less greasy than standard crisps but they disappeared from the shelves a few years back . Considering all the healthy eating campaigns these days I'm surprised they disappeared and there are no alternative unless you buy the baked which are not like proper crisps at all

Mango4 I think you meant they're not like proper crisps, and I totally agree, it's one of life's mysteries that healthy stuff never tastes as good😂

Lynibis Yes that's correct Thank you for pointing it out I have corrected it, but I did originally incorrectly say they were like proper crisps.

Where I am. I'd love to see more French food. It's slowly creeping in to one if our supermarkets. I just wish the French supermarket would take over. I prefer it.

In Spain which I like to visit quite often, they are very good on 0% fat and 0% sugar items in the dairy foods and other departments.I would like to see more of this type of food in the UK.They also do no added sugar pasta sauce.I like to follow the fat and sugar regime due to health reasons.

I was in Australia a while back and purchased a large jar of satay sauce. Since coming back I can not find it anywhere.

Are these any good? Sainsbury's is my store of choice. I live in Essex so don't know if you can get them in your area?

Lynibis Thanks for that. The ones we purchased were about 425g, I could then cook the chicken in it and serve with rice. We purchased them in Lidl in Australia but they don’t sell them in the uk ones.

I would like to see Italian food in shops as a normal choice rather than only on special food from other countries special or week. I say this in hope that it might make them more affordable without the need to travel to buy them at their original prices.
