No I don't but many do in our area every year we give away free tomatos fresh vegetables and fresh fruit as my partner grows her own but tends to grow to much for us to eat as a family

I am lucky, if that’s the right word, that I do not need to. Someone in our next road puts out bread in a closed basket for neighbours to take. I think it’s a great idea for people who really need it.

Our local library has a group of wonderful women who collect bits from supermarkets destined for the bins. It’s a group saving wasted food, it’s not a food bank. My husband on his last library trip came home with several bunches of spring onions.

I will buy yellow sticker items in the supermarket when I see them but we don't really have that many places near us that do the likes of Olio and TooGoodToGo. If more places did it then I probably would use them.

kitty88uk we buy them and either freeze them or eat the same day. We got a quiche 60% off the other day, cost us 80p. Nice, easy dinner. Love a yellow sticker item. Always buy bread when reduced and freeze it as our son goes through loads.

I'm on an app called Olio... Boots, Tesco, Iceland, Pret and many other great companies donate food that has to be eaten by the today date. I absolutely hate food waste, it's a great way to meet some lovely people in the community too, it's not just food people donate household / garden / clothing/ toiletries items that they don't want but they don't want it to go to landfill

Yup I sure do. I use olio. Olio is great it's not a food bank its for all. Takes the "shame" away from a food bank cos anyone can use it and no one asks why you are requesting food

I've gotten to know people from using olio. I've got to know my neighbours better for starters and other neighbours nearby. Download it if there's no one in your area its worth if you can getting involved

I was using Olio, but have only managed to give away food once, and that was 32 muffins that I had in an Aldi TGTG bag. I posted a few times after then, but no takers, so I deleted the app

No, although my Father does, it helps as he only has his pension and the one he goes too, is open to all, as it’s wastage they are giving away and this is after the food bank has theirs.

No but I am aware of a food library in the town where shops and caterers take their unwanted and near sell by date food for people to help themselves to rather than it go into landfill.

I don’t as i don’t need it so think it is best to leave it to those that do. There’s a lot of good stuff going for free in my town though
