Have You Been on a Game Show?
Ask a Question
Have you ever been on a Game Show?
I always wanted to go on Crystal Maze
I applied to go on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire once but I didn't hear anything back, my brother has been on a couple of shows; Countdown and The Weakest Link.
I've been in the audience of a Christmas QI, but never a contestant on a game show. I would love to be on Pointless, but only if it wasn't going to be televised
No ,I haven't been on a Game Show but I would like to go on The Chase but I would have to do some serious reading up on popular culture, Greek myth and Kings and Queens in history.
No I haven't been on any, never applied to be honest, my brother was on Jim'll fix it in the 70's, he wanted to go on a Lancaster bomber
I applied a long time ago for family show with my brother and my two daughters at the time but we didn’t get picked after the interview. My brother did get picked for two shows, whittle hosted by Tim Vine but I can’t think of the other one. I know he didn’t do well on either. I have been in the audience of many and then seen myself on tv.
eyeballkerry ...Not a Game Show but I was on Christmas Songs Of Praise with my 2 friends filmed last November at Sheffield City Hall.
My friend's partner sent me the clip of her & I singing away with the message "Look who's on tv" he had filmed Christmas Songs Of Praise & it had his partner laughing in the background at their home!
No never. Sometimes the answers come quickly but most of the time the correct answer comes to mind when I’m not even thinking about it.
I would be far too nervous. Sat at home I’m quite good with some of the quiz shows but I’m sure that once I was in front of the cameras I would just stand there silently lol
Although two of my daughters went on the first series of britains got talent and the kids just seemed to take it all in their stride !
suevernon1968 ....Just watched them all, sooo cute, soo talented, you must be soo proud of them ,bet they are cringing now they are grown up or maybe not..x
janphoenix51 sometimes proud sometimes embarrassed. They were more embarrassed cos the mums had such a laugh with Ant and Dec - they were as funny off camera as they were on camera- just nice genuine guys. It was just odd that the winner that year was in a different hotel to the rest of us all.
suevernon1968 ...That's a bit suspicious that the winners were in another hotel! Watched Ant & Dec since they were in Byker Grove when they were fresh faced youngsters, always liked them.
janphoenix51 yeah - the camera crews were also placed ready - it’s obvious that its set up really. Paul potts was a trained and paid opera singer and had been all over the world. But our kids didn’t notice and they had such a fab time - thats what mattered to me.
suevernon1968 ,exactly, as long as they enjoyed the experience, that's all that mattered.. Something they can talk about fir years to come...
Our daughter & a few of her primary school friends interviewed Dan Walker years ago when Media City in Manchester first opened, she looked after his ipad during the interview she told me years ago...
Dan lives local to us ,not from here originally but chose to make Sheffield his home & bring his children up in our green city.
janphoenix51 they loved it. Us parents were exhausted. We had to stay in London for a week. I have never seen so many coffee shops in my life lol. We printed an awful lot of pictures and put them all up in our home town. I laminated loads so that every family had a copy. My kids costumes have been packed professionally and are safe in my loft. It was definitely a huge part of my kids growing up. My kids that danced are now 28 and 25 years old. That really brings it home to how long ago it was !
suevernon1968 ,Well done to all of the children for all the time spent going through routines, well done to all the parents to for all the effort put in to pull everything together..
My partner's brother & sister in law do Shows & Pantomime,a lot of effort goes into everything so I understand, their Scripts are sold all over the world, they have sponsored The British Pantomime Awards too..
Limelight Scripts are their company...
janphoenix51 i dont think I would cope with it all now. I was the main fund raiser to help the kids with costumes and the dance troop with travel etc. I seemed to spend every spare second phoning or emailing companies asking for donations or prizes that we could use for raffles etc. the dance school is still doing well.
suevernon1968 ,Yes like I said a lot if effort goes into these things, well done you & others for their dedication...I have watched the video & wondered which of the parents YOU are..x
janphoenix51 I’m not sure if they caught me on camera much in London. On the original show there is footage of me cos the camera crew came to our home town and every time I turned around there was a camera in my face lol.
No I’d be too nervous but if out of all of them the one to go on is catchphrase. They get to keep all their money! In most others you lose it in some rules of the game. If anyone is thinking of doing it!
I haven’t been on a game show yet but am seriously thinking about applying for one, probably pointless (The show I mean and not the applying...lol) I have tickets to go and watch the filming of junior taskmaster next week which should be fun.
zigzag123 if you are seriously thinking about it- just do it ! Then you will have to let us all know everything about and when we can see you on tv !!
I've never been on a game show and not wanted to either to be honest, had a friend that went on one but he didn't win.
